That Cliché Princess Story

Prologue~ The Flight

"Come quick, Corona, this way." The man ushered her in the direction of a door hidden behind a tapestry of The Sword.

"What about Alix?" She asked clutching a bundle to her chest. "What about you?" She whispered frantically but the man only reached out and gently caressed her face. 

"I am so sorry my darling. I have to stay; my father needs me. Just..." He kissed her quickly and then stepped away from her. 

"Be safe. I love you. You cannot tell her. No matter what. Do you understand? She is in danger." He ordered her but she onlu bowed her head.

"Yes, I know. I won't tell her. Not about her kingdom, not about heritage, not about her.... not about her father." She gulped and looked at the man in front of her with tears in her eyes. He embraced her and the child in her arms one more time, before moving to walk away but a sound from the bundle stopped him.

"Dada." The excited little voice spoke and the bundle suddenly grew to the size of a human toddler. The man stared at the child with wide eyes before hurrying towards it and embracing it fiercely.

"Alix my dalring child. Change back; now. Your mother will take care of everything. Trust her. Dada has to go." He sounded close to tears as he took the child's hand to press it to his chest. "Never forget that your dada loves you. I love you, darling girl okay? So much, you have no idea. Be safe my love." He said the last thing to bot mother and child, before he convinced the girl to change back into the puppy dog, that fit into the bundle and in her mother's arms. Corona looked back one more time to see tears runnin down her husband's handsome face before the fell shut behind her and she hurried down the dark, underground alley towards Terren, where Philos and his daughter Sophia were waiting for her and the child. And with her husband's name on her lips, she turned her prayers to the gods.
