Madison walked into school, dark hair cascading in perfect curls down her shoulders. Arriving at her locker, everyone goes quiet as footsteps sound her way. Collecting the day's books, she closes the door, coming face to face with her school's bad boy.

Growing up, she realised that the typical girly things didn't interest her. She preferred shorts and jeans, the tomboyish side shining through.

"Can I help you?" She asks, a edge to her voice. Corey smirks. "Maybe you can. I want a kiss." He says. She scoffs, "Not a chance pretty boy. Your tricks may work on normal girls who aren't me." She triumphs.

Walking away down the hall, she rolls her eyes. If he thought he could get a kiss from her, he had something coming.

Later, at lunch.
She was sitting down, eyes closed, listening to her music and eating. He tried again, approaching and leaning in close. Her eyes snapped open, grabbing his arm and flipping him.

Then she was sitting on him, neck trapped in a headlock. Arms pinned and legs useless, he stared at her with wide eyes, terrified. Satisfied, she got up, pulling him to his feet. "Don't mess with me or you get worse next time." She warned.

He saw her eyes darken, glaring at him. She walked off, heels clicking.

Watching her go, he realised she had a dark past, having moved to try overcome it. When the day was over, she left and went home, thoughts clouded by him.

They had made an impression on each other, she knew it. But would that draw both into their tangled web? Madison had a long history of being an ice cold, frozen-hearted bitch, and Corey used to break into places and steal stuff.

When they next encountered each other, it was on the school's roof. Madison walked confidently along the edge, humming. Corey came up seconds later, watching her.

"Hey." He called, startling her. She spun, caught off guard. Then she smiled, upon seeing him. They sat down together, legs dangling off the side.

"Before I met you, Corey, I focused on acing my classes. Then I began to realise and see guys weren't as bad as I initially believed or thought. I started to let you in, show who I really was. I found myself falling for you." She explains, leaning in.

He copied her, leaning in close to smell her intoxicating perfume, kissing her gently, before deepening it, almost hungry and passionate.

She broke away, eyes clouded with memories.

"A long time ago, I took the Maidens Vow, a rite created by Artemis, Maiden Goddess of the Moon, Hunt and Archery. I swore to never fall in love. Since that day, Artemis has visited, asking me to join her Hunt. I said no, but now I have a reason to say yes. I'm going to join her." Madison told him, getting up.
