Okay so I would just like to apologise if I keep changing style it’s really hard to be consistent when you aren’t any good. *cue awkward laughing* I type the chapters on a laptop and then upload via my phone (don't ask it's a work laptop so it has weird security firewalls so I can't access this on it hence why I use my phone) and because I use my phone I can't get italics or anything to work easily so things like internal thoughts have to change etc. But hopefully you guys don't mind. This chapters also really long so I’m sorry, but not really as I enjoyed writing it. Anyway, I don’t like interrupting but I hope you enjoy! Remember to vote and leave a comment!

Chat remained determined on his journey home, but the closer he got, and the further he travelled from the place Ladybug left him, the slower he got: the doubt and insecurities creeping back into the front of his mind, and he slowly began to slip into a slump. Rather than his usual bounding across the city, his pace slowed to the point where he simply rose up on his staff and let gravity carry him across to the next street: gradually plodding from chimney stack to chimney stack, rooftop to rooftop.

He didn’t want to be alone, he needed someone to talk to, a friend he could confide in, but who did he have apart from Ladybug; he couldn’t exactly talk to her about all this. He absentmindedly continued across Paris in the vague direction of his home, when the smell of freshly baked cakes and croissants hit his nose. “Marinette.” He smiled to himself looking down and spotting a familiar balcony, she was a good friend both with and without the mask, he could talk to her. She was there the last time Ladybug crushed his heart after all, and although he didn’t want to unload more onto her plate, he just needed a friendly face, even though a hug would be preferable.

Marinette had been home just long enough to change in to her jammies and flop on her bed. She knew she didn’t have to go anywhere for the rest of the evening, and although she had more homework that was the last thing she had wanted to do. A small nap wouldn’t hurt, would it? Or perhaps she could just roll over and stare at her noticeboard. She reached up and gently touched one of her many photos of Adrien, and small smile crossing her face as he thought of the boy who was almost in love with her. She closed her eyes, snuggling into her giant cat pillow.

Chat landed with a small thud on Marinette’s balcony, causing her to open to her eyes. “Tikki, what was that?” She asked, cautiously looking up towards the trap door.

“Maybe it was just a cat?” Tikki responded, poking her head out from behind her usual spot.

Although Chat wanted to talk her he had no idea what to say to her. How would he start? Knowing him he would just end up crying, or something equally as embarrassing. Marinette carefully opened the trap door a few inches and looked around. “Hello Princess.” Chat bent down showing his face to her.

She smiled back at him and opened the door the rest of the way, leaning her arms on the ledge. “Hello Chat, do what do I owe this visit?”

“Do I really need an excuse to see my favourite civilian?” Chat purred.

A light blush crossed Marinette’s cheeks. “It does when it interrupts my school schedule.” She joked. Chat raised an eyebrow at her, at which point she knew she had been caught. “Okay fine I wasn’t doing homework.” She laughed. Was she always that cute when she smiled? Wait what? “But seriously, why are you here?”

He knew he couldn’t lie to her. “I’m just feeling a little down that’s all… I just wanted to see a friendly face.”

“Of course! Sit down! I’ll be back in a sec!” She ducked down back into her room. “Wait, do you want a drink or anything?” Popping her head back up like a meerkat.
