Just a stranger looking in through a broken window unaware of the terror taking place. A slap to the face .. a body thrown against a wall. Unable to defend yourself against the demon you love. A love that can blind and destroy you. No ones aware of what's going on even if the red flags are burning bright in their faces. They're unaware because you're smiling on the outside but no one can see the damage on the inside. You yell for help only to be reprimanded in the bedroom and told to shut your mouth because no one believes you. You think they're going to change so you obey. You're in the store and a stranger sees a mark on your arm, they ask how it happened and you say you burned it on the stove. They nod and go on about their day.. you stagger home to your abuser who should be your protector. You bought the wrong thing and everything's thrown across the room. He grabs you from the back of your head and slings you across the room.. bam right into the tv. It falls on top of you .. knocked unconscious. The police knock on the door saying there's been a call because of loud noice, he makes a lie saying you had an accident and it won't happen again, life continues on. He takes you to the hospital an hour later but leaves you by yourself to explain what happened. They check you out and ask what happened.. you lie and say that you were doing repairs on the house and fell in the process. They discharge you and give you a card if you're ever in need. He picks you up in the parking lot and ask if you learned your lesson.
