" Frank! Sweetheart, get up! Church starts in half an hour and you haven't even showered!" Mrs. Iero called up the stairs in anguish. Honestly, she loved that boy, but he was going to be the death of her.
Upstairs, Frank was stirring. He groaned tiredly, waving a dismissive hand in the direction of his bedroom door. He nosed at his pillow and stretched himself out a bit more. Frank settled back in cozily, breath growing steady.
Frank was then startled back awake by is mothers angry voice, shrieking at him to get his ass out of bed and wash up already. He jumped and fell out of bed, legs tangled in the bedsheets so half his torso was hanging off the bed like a corpse. Frank yelped and slid the rest of the way off his bed with a dull thud and a new ache in his hip.
He huffed and stood up, wriggling out of his sheet-cage. Frank then hurried to the bathroom and locked the door. He quickly stripped and turned on the water, balancing it and stepping in.
Frank took a very brisk shower, stepping back out in about 5 minutes. The mirror was fogged, so he cleared it is with his hand before drying himself. He looked at his reflection and toweled off his hair. Sighing, he pushed his black hair out of his face and tied his towel around his waist and hurried back to his room.
Mrs. Iero was in her own bathroom, coating her lips in a ruby red color and dabbing her cheeks with blush. Her dark brown hair was neatly curled and fell just past her ears. She brushed down her dark red dress and gave herself a once over. Yes, that would do.
She walked over to Frank's room and knocked on the door.
"10 minutes, boy! Get a move on!"
Frank assured her he was hurrying in the midst of yanking on his church pants. He fumbled with his belt and the buttons on his shirt. He wrenched on his jacket and stuffed his feet into his shoes.
After shoving his toothbrush in his mouth and combing back his hair the way his mother always makes him, he thundered down the stairs. Mrs. Iero handed him his coffee and kissed his forehead.
" There's my boy. We're going to the Way's in 5 minutes, so drink up. I thought I told you to set your alarm clock for church Sunday's! You'll turn me to a broken record." She scolded lightly, batting at his chest. Frank grinned weakly and stood still as she fixed his tie, muttering about how he always made it uneven.
She stepped back and let him finish his coffee. Frank gave her a nod and the two walked out of the house. Mrs. Iero held Frank's forearm and lead him to the Way's front door. Frank smiled to himself. They both knew he knew where to go but his mother was protective and it was both wonderful and terrible at the same time for Frank.
She rang the doorbell and patted Franks jacket down a bit. Frank tried not to roll his eyes and bit his tongue before Donna Way opened the door.
" Linda! Frank! The boys are in the living room, Frank you go join them. I need a word with your mother." Donna greeted them, patting Frank's shoulder. Frank smiled politely and nodded before going to join Mikey and Gerard.
" Alright, Iero?" Gerard greeted him, shaking his hand firmly. Frank nodded at him and grinned.
" And you, Way?" He replied smoothly, punching Gerard's shoulder lightly. Mikey came up beside him.
" Frank! Hey. " Another handshake and grin. Frank ruffled Mikey's hair.
" Mikey! God, don't you ever stop growing?" He joked as Mikey grumbled, flattening his hair back down. Gerard laughed and bumped his shoulder against Frank's.
" Now you sound like Ma." The Way brothers were also in their Sunday best. Gerard's black pants and jacket over a white button up. His tie was pretty disheveled, but the circles under his eyes told Frank he was up all night again, so he said nothing. Mikey had on his least favorite suit on, the gray one. He said it itches and he all ways fidgets so Frank believed him. His tie was dark blue, contrasting Gerard's red tie.
