Saagnika was born in India, minutes before disaster. A fire started in the area, and her mother was killed. Nika's brother was lost, leaving her with their dad. She was named after the incident, as a trophy for surviving. When Nika was 4 years old, she came across another young Mongoose. That Mongoose happened to be Sunil. The two became best friends, with Nika being the braver. Though, when they were 6, Sunil moved to Downtown City, in (Presumably) America. Nika was heartbroken. The one friend she had left not long after they met. When the Mongoose turned 10 (idk how pet ages work correct me if I'm wrong), she was sent to America, not knowing she would end up in Downtown City. Her dad was sent to China, by accident. They were separated, and Nika was alone. Well, until she stumbled by LPS. She had heard people talking about this LPS while searching for shelter, and decided to investigate. She walked in, and saw someone she wasn't expecting. Sunil was there, talking to this Gecko she obviously didn't know. Had he found a new best friend? Nika was worried, but stepped into the Day-Camp. Everyone looked up, and Sunil gasped once he noticed who it was. He remembered her as his best friend, back in India. The other pets were surprised when Sunil ran towards this other Mongoose, and hugged her. Saagnika was happy to have her only friend back. But, Vinnie didn't approve at first. He thought he was being replaced. Sunil would hang out with Nika more, everyday. Vinnie was scared of losing the brother-like bond him and Sunil had. Nika tried to assure him, thinking it was just a little worry, by saying it was just because they hadn't seen or heard from each-other in 4 years. This did little to nothing for Vinnie's nerves. Nika noticed how distant the Gecko had become, and asked Sunil if he's usually like this with new campers. Sunil had told her that Vinnie gets jealous easily (HEADCANON), and probably thinks she's trying to replace him. Nika felt horrible for not noticing how much it affected Vinnie. She apologised to Vinnie, and said that she had never planned to take his place as Sunil's best friend. He forgave her, and Nika was happy knowing he was happy. She may not be Sunil's bestie anymore, but she's in second place. Once the drama was dealt with, Zoe asked what had happened to Nika's leg. Well, during the fire, her leg was badly burned, and needed to be amputated. She was given a prosthetic leg shortly after the others heard. Blythe was out of town, and had only returned a few days after Saagnika's arrival. Nika was shocked by the fact that Blythe could talk to pets, but told her about the leg. Blythe mentioned this to Ms Twombly, and they managed to pay for a prosthetic (come up with your own explanation cuz idk). Mrs T was actually planning to sell Nika, but Blythe wouldn't let her. The two Mongeese explained how they met, and the girl didn't want to separate them a second time. When Blythe said this to Ms T, the woman understood. It hadn't been long since the secret of Blythe's ability to talk to pets came out, but everyone was getting used to it. Everytime the pet's owners would pick them up, Saagnika would hide, afraid of what would happen. Though, after a week of that, Sunil managed to lure her out in front of them. Sunil and Vinnie's owners got engaged recently, meaning the two pets were practically going to be brothers. Ms Nevla saw how cute Nika was, and asked Ms Twombly how much she was worth. The woman said she wasn't for sale, but let her keep Nika, since she owned Sunil already. Sunil and Nika couldn't be happier. Vinnie was a little deflated, worried again for their friendship, but they reassured him they weren't leaving him out. The three became as close as biological siblings eventually.
