rain continued to pour from the sky. i was looking down at my feet as i dragged them down the sidewalk. i had an urge to cry. but i didn't want to. i tried to hold in the tears, but i couldn't. i bursted out crying. the tears just streamed down my face.
i just wished anthony would've at least told me he wasn't gonna make it. but instead he left me to walk in the rain. the thought of that had be in tears. i just sobbed even more. it hurt.
i was sitting in the middle of the sidewalk. and eventually i just laid down. i felt so pathetic. i don't even know how long i laid there but i did. until i saw a light beam in my eyes. the light came from a car. the car cane closer and closer. until it eventually stopped. and someone stepped out. it was jaden.
he looked shocked. i was also shocked to see him. we both looked at each other. and then i remembered that i had been crying. i quickly wiped the tears. i tried to force a smile. but i couldn't.
"are you okay?" jaden asked.
his words struck my heart. as much as i wanted to say i was okay, i wasn't. i felt like i couldn't speak. i just wanted to sob even more. so, i just shook my head.
he frowned.
"here i'll drive you home" jaden offered.
i didn't respond. i just nodded.
he came towards me and lent out a hand. i took it and stood up. we made eye contact. you could tell that he had sympathy in his eyes. his eyes just glistened in the dark. we stared at each other for a while until jaden cleared his throat.
"we should uh get going" he said.
once again i just simply nodded. so he led me to his car.

the car ride was pretty silent. we just sat there. he drove while i was cold and soggy. we occasionally made eye contact but it broke pretty quickly. it was just awkward. jaden suddenly cleared his throat and started speaking.
"so uh if you don't mind me asking, how did you end up out there?" he asked.
i looked i him. and hesitantly answered.
"i didn't have a ride home" i replied softly.
"wait how doesn't your friend drive you?" jaden asked.
