I don't want a roommate

   Kieth POV

I watched him get dragged in kicking and screaming and forced to lay in the bed next to me. My new roommate. I hear his name is Lance. I think to myself ' I dont want a roommate. They do nothing but get in the way and disturb me. For god sakes can I not just slowly die of starvation in peace?! ' I agreed to try and be on my best behavior with my nurse though. I walked over and gently knelled in front of him with my hands in plain sight being as cautious as possible until I know why he is here. 

I notice the cuts on his arms and tear trails on his cheeks. I put my best kind voice on, even if i mean it its always hard for me to sound genuine. " Hey... I'm Kieth and I'll be your roommate until you get out of here " He sat to look at me and gently muttered " Lance, and I shouldn't be in here in the first place. "  I sigh softly knowing there must be a reason he is in here. 

After a couple minutes of uncomfortable silence there was a knock on the door and my nurse said in her sweet motherly voice " Kieth..... Bruno's here to see you " a big shaggy golden lab ran over and laid on my lap as I pet him and waved goodbye to the nurse.

Lance POV

The boy. He seemed so empty until the dog came into the room. His eyes lit up like a childs on Christmas. I moved so there was space on my bed for the two and he got up slowly onto my bed as well as Bruno and i cant help but giggle at how cautious he's being. " He's so cuteeee " I pet Bruno's head and Kieth looks at me and asks " so what are you in for? If your up to tell me of course" I nod softly " Self destructive way of grieving in words of the doctor. I lost my girlfriend in a car crash and I was driving " all he could do was nod in response and mutter out " I'm in here for practically to my reasons to count and have been in here for so long "
