Birthday Surprise

Happy Birthday,Eric!

Eric was woken by his alarm, as usual, he grunted and reached to turn it off,when he realised that Alan had woken up already. Eric sighed and sat up, he looked  at the time and jumped out of bed "kuso. im late!" he walked to the wardrobe and grabbed a clean shirt out, pulled his top off and put the clean shirt on, making a half hearted attempt at buttoning it up, as uaual, to half way up his chest, he then pulled his jacket out of the wardrobe and put it on... he smiled as he remembered the precious item in the pocket, he got his trousers out of the wardrobe and changed into them, he grabbed his tie from where he had left it, on the floor by the wardrobe. he walked downstairs while tying it loosly. Alan was already changed and ready, in the kitchen leaned against the side, he smiled when he saw Eric "morning sweetheart, happy birthday ". Eric walked to Alan and hugged the smaller male "thanks darlin', an' goo' mornin'" Alan hugged back "your breakfasts on the table"Eric grinned and walked to the table"thanks again"he sat down and started eating , concious he was making  both he and Alan late for work. alan walked to Eric and put his arms over Erics shoulders and kissed the others cheek* "Ive already called in and told will that were gonna be late, so dont worry  about that" *Alan said softly. Eric blushed and chuckled*"yae allays knae jes' wha' i think Al'"

"course i do, ive known you long enough to"Alan chuckled and stood upright. Eric just smiled and continued eating. afew minutes later Eric was finished and ready to leave. Alan walked to  the door and unlocked it*"lets go then".Eric nodded"aye" *the two reapers left their house, Alan locked the door after them, he then walked to Erics side and held the others hand. they walked together towards the big building of dispatch, Eric smiled as he planned something in his head. Alan looked at Eric"what you grinning about?" he asked softly. Eric looked at Alan"oh, its nothin'"he smiled and looked forward again.

once they reached dispatch, and were at the front desk,they were greeted by William,Ronald and Grell, William looked at Eric "well? you asked for us to be here"William said in his usual precise and monotonus voice.Grell just grinned and said "happy birthday Eric", and Ronald looked clueless...Eric turned to look at Alan"Al', i 'ave a question tae ask yae"he said softly.Alan looked at Eric"yes?"Eric took the small black box out of his pocket and went down onto one knee, he gazed up at Alan and flipped the lid up, reveiling the gold ring inside* "Alan,will yae dae meh tha honor of bein' mah 'usband?..".Alan blushed and was speechless, Ronald looked at them and smiled, Grell smiled with tears in her eyes, Wiliam smiled. Alan looked down at Eric, his own eyes filling with tears of joy "E..Eric.." he said softly, wiping his eyes, he then smiled"of course i will" *Erics face lit up into a joyful and bright smile, he stood and slipped the engagement ring onto Alans finger and hugged the smaller close. Alan hugged back,then took hold of Erics tie and pulled the taller down alittle, then kissed him softly on the lips, Eric kissed back, tears of joy streaking his face.William,Grell and Ronald smiled and congratulated the pair . the soft and loving kiss laster for roughly 10 seconds before Alan pulled away and gazed into Erics eyes....the loving moment was spoiled by William,who spoke upfromwhere he stood"i hate to be the one who spoils the day, but im afraid Eric, you still have to attand your overtime tonight". he recived a smack over the head..with his own scythe..by Ronald"senpai! how could you?!" Grell sighed "party pooper as usual William"..Eric and Alan looked at the three.. then laughed softly,their laughter harmonizing,like softly chiming bells on a cold winter morning.
