I am seated in class drawing lillies which happen to be my favorite flowers as I await the teacher to arrive. I picked up this trait from my elder brother who used to draw lillies in his free time. I haven't seen him since we were separated when our parents perished in a car accident.

My eyes search to and fro around the class looking for Mellisa my only friend but she is no where in sight. I am a subject of envy from all the girls in my class apart from Mellisa, I don't know why they hate me so much, probably because I am smart and brilliant? Or it's because their boy friends are so obsessed with me?, I can't seem to figure out why they hate me.

Just then the door is flung open and in walks a dark skinned man. He is bald headed, with oriental eyes, an aqueline nose and curvy lips. He is adorned in a black suit.

I stare at him as his lips twitch slightly into a smile.

"Good morning ladies and gentlemen."he greets us.
" I am your new Maths teacher"he proceeds;
"My name is Samuel Collins".

Much as I love mathematics, I am going to need some time to acclimate with this new teacher.

Stretching his arm to get hold of the marker which is at the corner of the white board,  he gets into the day's topic which is Algebra.

The lesson goes on and seems like it will never end, I'm yawning and my stomach is grumbling. I keep staring at the wall clock but time isn't shifting. Thankfully the lunch bell finally rings and I dash out of my seat like as if I was seated on hot coal!

After getting served my food at the cafeteria, I take a seat on a table that has nobody else on it. Melissa's absence is taking a toll on me and I am starting to feel like an abandoned puppy in it's kennel. To fill this void, I yank in my ear phones and play some loud music while I eat. I then pull out my book start solving the math assignments  that ' Mr baldy' left  us.
Solving equations while I'm eating and listening to my favorite artist Jamie Grace sing is such a cool combo.

After lunch I attend  my last class which to be honest I was better off absent because I dozed through the whole period, perhaps as an effect of the heavy lunch! Eventually the days classes are over and without hesitation  I jump onto my bike and ride all the way home.

I run into the house drop my bag on the couch as I scurry to the fridge to get myself a drink as thirst is taking it's toll on me.

"How was your day?Keizy."Dad asks.

"My day was fair but boring."I respond  as I slump on the sofa.

"Tell me about it",he mumbles as he cuts some tomatoes.

"Melissa didn't come to school today, I wonder what happened to her." I reply while taking a sip of my coke.

"Have you tried finding out why she did not show up?" he asks me with concern.

"I have not yet talked to her,but will call her immediately ." I respond as I empty the last drops of the Coke into my mouth, tossing the bottle into the trash can after that.

I sneak into Matthew, my little brother's room without knocking the door. I find him lying on his bed busy typing on his phone without any care about my intrusion, Matthew stays glued to his phone and pays no attention to me!

It is now clear that Matthew is coming of age and acting way older than a fourteen year old.I can't help but guess who is at the receiving end of his phone chat.
I can't take Matthew's ignorance of my presence any longer and I decide to break the Ice.

"Matthew, won't you greet me?"I implore.

"Hi Keizy", he lazily responds and gets back to his phone .

" I wonder who you are chatting with this time, who is kind enough to text you" I teasingly inquire.

"Mind your business",he yells in response as he plugs in the phone's charger.

"Your business is my business." I retort with laughter in my voice.
"How would you love playing some FIFA with me?" I suggest.

"Cool! he yells in approval of my suggestion. He jumps out of the bed with a smile on his face. He then shoves me out of the room as he follows behind me into the sitting room.

We hurriedly take our sits on the sofa set and every one picks their PlayStation pad, I turn the video game on and we choose our teams, Matthew picks Brazil and I pick Portugal and it is game on now.

Minutes into the game, and I'm already leading with two goals ahead,  first half ends 3-1 and by the end of second half, I win 5-2. Matthew being the bad loser that he is, turns moody all over a sudden and I can't help but laugh and rub my victory into his face.

"Another day, another victory for me" I yell" you will never defeat me Matthew".

"You are just lucky once again,  this has nothing to do with your age, I dare you to replay me now"he responds clearly disappointed.

I can't stop laughing at my brother who is trying to prove a point.

My phone rings and i reach out to the couch and rummage through my bag till my hands rest on my smart phone. I then pick the call.

"Big head, why did you take long to pick me?"she murmurs.

" Melissa, can't you say hello like normal people? "I reply.

" I don't speak like ordinary people because I am extraordinary remember."she chuckles.

"Well, why did this extraordinary girl miss school today?"I sarcastically ask.

"I had a terrible headache and mum told me to stay home and rest."she explains.

"You would have told me and I give you a relaxing head massage."I chuckle.

" I can't allow your ugly hands to even touch me."she teases me.
