real life

richie walked over to mike wheelers house, they were going to be having a sleepover.

he knocked on the door and pushed his glasses up on his nose.

a woman in her late forties answered.

"hi, you must be mrs. smith." richie said. "uh- ye-yeah that's me.." she looked confused at richie. "uh, is mike home?" richie asked, getting uncomfortable. "um yes, yes he is. he's upstairs in his bedroom.." mrs. smith moved aside and let richie in her home.

"michael, uh you have someone here to see you!" mrs. smith yelled to mike who was upstairs. "coming!" mike yelled back before running downstairs.

"oh hey rich." mike smiled at his friend. "mom, richie and i are going to be in my room." mike said, grabbing snacks and going upstairs.

once the two boys left, karen paced back and forth, running a hand through her hair.

"this can't be happening." she said to herself.

she yanked the phone off the wall and dialed a number before holding the phone to her ear.

"hello?" a mans voice spoke through the phone.

"wentworth.. we have an issue." karen spoke quietly.

"what is it?"

"the boys met."

"i- we did everything to prevent this!"

"you should've told me where you moved so i didn't move in the same area!"

"you moved to derry?"

"yes! richard is at my house right now"

"no, he said he was going over to mikes house, his little homeschooled friend."

"no! he meant my michael. he and mike are upstairs in mikes bed room as we speak."

"we have to tell them then. meet me at the diner, we'll discuss this there."

"ok."

karen hung the phone back on the wall and grabbed her coat, "michael, nancy, i'm going to the diner to meet someone! i'll be back!" karen yelled to her kids.

they both responded with an 'ok' and she left.

-up in mikes room-

"okay, now my moms gone. let's go through her closet." mike said, he and richie sneak out of his room and into his moms.

mike closes and locks the door and goes into the closet.

"these are all the documents she has." mike said, pulling out a box.

"well let's go through them." richie said.

they opened up the box and looked inside.

"birth certificates." mike smiled.

"richard james tozier." richie read the birth certificate. "it says i was a twin, first born." richies mouth hung open.

"wait here's mine." mike said, pulling out his birth certificate. "i was a twin, second born." mike said.

"so we're twins?!" they both exclaimed.

-

back at the diner, karen walked in and sat down at the booth with wentworth tozier.

"do you have anything at your house that hints that they are twins?" wentworth asked karen after she sat down. "uh, i don't think so. maybe." karen struggled to remember. "i have mikes real birth certificate and i have richies." karen said.

wentworth rubbed his temples and sighed, "it's to hard to keep this from them. clearly they are going to find out. i mean they're identical!" wentworth said. "i tried. i never wanted michael to find out." karen said, grabbed wentworth a hand.

"what about nancy? does she remember richie being mikes twin?" wentworth asked. "not that i know of. she was only four when they were born." karen said. "she was still old enough to remember." wentworth said.

"i really don't know how this happened." karen sighed. "it's done, this game is over. the boys deserve to know and have both their parents in their lives." wentworth said.

they both got up, paid for their drinks, and left to karen's house.

they walked in and seen the boys sitting at the kitchen counter, with two papers in front of them.

"dad!?" richie said, his mouth dropping open.

"hey, boys.. what are those?" karen asked looking down at the papers. "birth certificates. richies and mine." mike said.

"when were you going to tell us we were twins?!" richie yelled. "rich, bud." wentworth said, trying to place a hand on his, now crying, sons shoulder. "no, get off me!" richie yelled and jumped back.

"boys, it was for your own good. your father and i wouldn't work out and we wanted to live in different states, i couldn't take care of twins and neither could he. so we took one baby, i stayed in indiana and wentworth moved back here to derry." karen explained to her angry sons.

"that's not fair mom! richie and i are brothers and we never knew because you two could 'stay together'? that doesn't make any sense." mike scoffed. "don't be mad, michael." wentworth said. "sorry bud, but i haven't needed you my whole life so i don't need you now." mike spat at him before running up to his room.

richie ran out the back door.

"well that didn't go as planned."

dudeeee all of these riots and shit going on is stressful asf. luckily i have chapters pre-written for almost all of my books or else i wouldnt have chapters published for a while. ive been busy trying to keep my family safe because in my city they are burning people's houses down, breaking into peoples houses, burning gas stations and buildings down in my neighborhood. i have a three year old sister who is scared to death because of all this stuff. its really scary and honestly the breaking in to places and burning places is uncalled for. the protests, totally understandable and i am on the peaceful protesters side. anywho thats my opinion on this stuff. #justiceforgeorge
