"SophieSophieSophieSophieSophieSOPHIE!" Biana screeched, knocking into the blonde, who was on her way to her AP Biology class.

"Biana? Where's the fire?" Sophie wheezed, rubbing her tailbone when she was finally able to shove the brunette off her.

After getting slammed into the row of lockers by her overexcited best friend, Sophie was eager to see what the hell had her practically vibrating with joy.

"MomandDadboughtmeticketstogoseetheBlackSwans!" she panted, not spacing her words out.

"What?" Sophie was fluent in Biana, but this was too much even for her.

"Mom. And. Dad. Bought. Me. Tickets. To. Go. See. The. Black. Swans!" Biana cried, squealing, which lead to more than a few curious gazes in their direction.

"Oh, great. Why are you telling me this?" Sophie asked, checking her homework one more time, even though she knew she had all the answers right.

"Because I said 'tickets', plural. You're coming with me to the concert on Saturday."

"No," Sophie said, whirling around. "I love you, Bi, I really do, but I am not sitting through three hours of screaming fangirls, bad music, and being packed into a stadium like sardines," Sophie said. "Ask Maruca, she'd love to go with you," Sophie suggested.

"Maruca is being a bitch, so no. I want to go with you! These are V.I.P tickets Soph!" Biana cried, giving her friend the wide-eyed fangirl look she was known for.

The Black Swans were a popular boy band filled with teenagers. They wore masks on stage to hide their identities for two reasons.

One; they got a lot of media attention because of the mystery of what and who lay beneath them.

Two; since they were still teenagers, they wanted to keep some of their privacy. That was expected though, the media was relentless, especially in San Diego, where the boys were from.

There were probably other reasons, (Biana swears it's because they're all secretly ugly, Sophie disagrees), but those were the two that they had publicly announced.

Sophie wouldn't have known that, but Biana had a bit of an obsession, and had been stalking their social media posts and what they released to the press. She felt the odd need to tell Sophie about every update despite her obvious distaste of the band.

"I don't care if you got a meet-and-greet, I'm not going. Their music gives me a headache," she hissed, throwing her stuff on her table.

"I would give my left kidney for a meet-and-greet and you know it," Biana said, vehemently. Making comments like that usually made Biana go on rants about Sophie's lack of a good music taste, according to Biana anyway.

"I know," Sophie groaned. "It's all you talked about over the summer!"

"I can't go alone!" Biana whined. "What if there's some creep that won't leave me alone? What if some guy wants my number and I don't want to give it to them? What if they follow me to the bathroom?" Biana hissed.

Sophie glared at her, knowing that she was playing the 'girl alone= target' card, and while it was true, it still made Sophie a little mad.

"Fine! Fine, I'll go with you, but you're paying for everything," Sophie hissed.

"Yay! I'm gonna go tell the boys." She stood and was halfway to the door before she finished her sentence.

"You do that, leave me to my misery," Sophie grumbled.

"You'll be fine," Biana admonished, tossing her hair as she exited the room.

"Why is she so . . . peppy?" Dex asked when he sat next to her, somehow slipping by Biana, who was more pumped than ever.

His tone made it clear that he was slightly disgusted by the brightness that was their friend, and the eyebags he wore made it even clearer that he had slept even less than Sophie last night.

"Alden and Della gave her tickets to go see The Black Swans," Sophie explained.

"The boy band?" Now his tone was really disgusted.

"Yeah, and apparently I'm going with her." Sophie hit her head off the table once, more to wake herself up than anything.

"Oof, better you than me though dude," Dex replied, chugging what looked like a Monster.

"Hand it over."

"What?"

"Your other one, fork over the other one in your bag," Sophie ordered.

She normally ate pretty well, she was a very fit girl despite her absolute disdain for P.E. but she could only be a somewhat functional human being when she had four hours of sleep and she was currently running on two, maybe a little less.

"You're paying for the next one," he grumbled, handing it over.

"Deal," she hissed, opening it with extreme speed, chugging half of it in one go.

"You two are gonna die of heart attacks," Marella teased as she slid into her seat.

"Definitely," they both said as Dex tossing their empty cans in the recycling bin in the corner of the room.

"Dex, are we still on for this weekend?" Marella asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah, I got the go-ahead from Keefe a few minutes before I walked in."

Sophie rolled her eyes, popping an earbud in.

Marella and Dex had been talking about a guy named Keefe for months! Sophie had only ever seen photos, but she was starting to think that they were making him up as an excuse to go on dates. It was obvious that they were into each other.

Marella kept getting cute little mechanical toys in her locker, which had Dex's handiwork written all over them. Dex kept getting forged items in his school bag, which Marella was famous for.

It seemed to be obvious to everyone but them what was going on.

"Great, I might be a little late though, my parents need my help at the shop this weekend," Marella admitted, toying with one of her braids, something she was also famous for.

"That's fine, Keefe said that he and the twins had something to do before we started anyway," Dex said, drumming his fingers on the table in front of him.

Dex was always moving, whether he was tinkering, or doing schoolwork, he was always moving. Most of Sophie's friends did and she was starting to think that they all had ADHD or something.

Maybe they were all just too hyped up on caffeine.

"Sophie, I heard you were going to a Black Swan concert, never thought that would be happening," Jensi said when he sat down.

"Biana guilt-tripped me into going, but this might be a good excuse to get out of the house," Sophie grumbled.

"Animals giving you a headache again?"

"Yeah, everyone dreams about being a vet when they're younger, but when your parents actually are it becomes a pain in the-"

"Okay we get it, no need for more of your colorful language," Marella teased, cutting Sophie off with mock fright.

"First of all, I was going to say pain in the neck, and secondly, you swear more than I do most of the time," Sophie argued.

"Whatever, just shut up and let me copy your homework," Marella urged.

Sophie sighed.

It was going to be a very long day, without a doubt.
