She fell in love,
It's not that hard
When it comes down to it;
Happy chemicals,
Brain tissue
Reacting
To a stimulation of emotions.
He was foolish,
It's quite that simple
When it comes down to it;
Lack of feelings,
Immaturity
Backstabbing
Because there was someone better.
She watched him betray her,
Not easily done
When it comes down to it;
Silently screaming tears,
Frozen by shock
Breaking
Hearts, shattering in all directions.
He threw her away,
It wasn't that hard
When it came down to it;
Hardly attractive features,
Exciting replacement
Faking
His way through the relationship.
She learned to kiss the bottle like his lover,
It was quite that simple
When it came down to it;
A different pain,
Diluted memories
Relief
From the unrelenting heart break.
He watched her paint her wrists red,
Not easily done
When it came down to it;
Sympathy, but no help,
No cares
Belief
That it would stop itself.
Now she runs with wings,
It's not that hard
When it comes down to it;
Lets the knife slip over important veins,
Ending the suffering
Knowing
There's no salvation.
Now he blames himself,
It is really quite simple
When it comes down to it;
Visits her grave,
Flowers left
Allowing
His self-hatred to pour from his wrists.
Now they share a plott
Too easily done
When it comes down to it;
Every one of love's mistakes,
Beautifully chaotic
Twisted
Into the despair that would be both their ends.
