a year later today was valentines day rachel is 4 and jacob is 2 caroline was watching the kids today cause kol wanted to do something for elena she was getting dressed she decided to wear a red strappless dress that went to her knees with red flats she wore her hair in curls
"you ready" kol asked walking in
"yeah" elena said she grabbed her purse and they headed downstairs caroline was sitting in the living room with lizzie josie jacob and rachel

"bye sweetie be good for aunt caroline" elena said she hated to leave her daughter but she knew she needed time for herself anyway

"bye" kol and elena said they both walked out and went and got in the car and headed to the resturant they got there they went inside there was red and white everywhere they went and too there seats

caroline was sitting on the couch watching a movie with the kids when an unknown number called
"hello" caroline said
"hey its katherine" katherine said
"yes" caroline said she didn't get why katherine was calling her and not elena
"elena's not answering her phone" katherine said
"she's on a date with kol its valentines day he plans on proposing" caroline said she didn't want drama to interupt there night

"what" caroline said"damon and bonnie why would they call witches and vampires together"
"recruiting people for a war not now but there gathering allies so on jacob's 16 birthday they can start a war with y'all" katherine said
"there idiots i didn't think that they were that stupid to try and do that and go to war with elena" caroline said
"i know that but if they get a bunch of allies there gonna cause a huge bloodshed" katherine said
"yeah bloodshed is the last thing we need" caroline said
"it might come to that" katherine said she didn't want it to the last thing she wanted was to die again but there was a huge chance a lot of innocents were about to die
"yeah i know but we have the originals there's a low chance will die" caroline said
"ok i'll let you tell elena when she gets home bye" katherine said she was happy that she had gotten ahold of someone
"bye" caroline said she hung up and put her phone away
"whats wrong" rachel said
"nothing sweetie just watch the movie" caroline said she didn't want them to worry about it they were just kids

elena and kol left the resturant and kol made her put a blind fold and when they arrived at there location he took it off and she gasped
they were standing on a beach soft music"oh my god" elena smiled and the sun was setting it was beautifull"what are you planning"
"can't tell you that" kol smirked
"fine" elena said she knew that he was planning something she knew that smirk"this is beatiful"
"wanna walk down the beach" kol said he offered her hand
she put her hand in his and they started walking down the beach hand in hand she couldn't get over how beautiful it was she noticed a trail of rose petals and candles they walked farther and the petals stopped they watched the sun set
"this is amazing" elena said
"elena" kol said she turned and he was on one knee
"oh my god" elena gasped
"elena marie gilbert i have found the love of my life in you will you marry me" kol said
"yes" elena smiled

caroline was sitting on the couch she put jacob and the twins down rachel was still up when kol and elena walked back in
"so" caroline asked
"she said yes" kol said
"rachel why are you still up" elena asked

"i'm gonna go lay her down come on" elena said
"fine" rachel huffed her and elena went upstairs

"rachel me and your dad and your uncles klaus and elijah and aunt rebekah are originals" elena said"your safe"
"ok goodnight mom" rachel said
"goodnight sweetie" elena said she gave rachel a kiss on her forehead and went back downstairs "caroline what the hell happened"

"my daughter just asked who is going to war with me what is bloodshed and who are the originals and are they protecting us wanna clarrify" elena asked

"well katherine called your little spy she said damon and bonnie are recruiting vampires and witches i didn't think they were stupid enough to go to war with you katherine said there gonna cause a bloodshed but we have the originals on our side each have at least 100 witches they wanna go to war on jacob's 16th birthday" caroline said
"call freya and davina" elena groaned and vamped upstairs
"its valentines day and someone just signed up for war" kol said
"well this gonna be fun" caroline said
