Lucy's POV
I had just started unpacking my bag when I heard my mom yell, "Lucyy, come downstairs!" I sighed regretfully and took a look at the clothes I still needed to find a spot for. Oh well, I thought, before starting downstairs.
"What?" I started to say before abruptly stopping. There was a girl standing in our kitchen talking with my mom. All I could see was the sway of her long brown hair as she gestured around with her hands. A plate of cookies she had brought rested on the counter.
"Lucy!" My mom exclaimed, "This is Yanni, she lives a couple houses down and she's going to be a junior over at your new school in August."
Yanni turned to face me and my stomach dropped. Her creamy white skin glowed in the afternoon sun. Our eyes met and I almost gasped.
"Nice to meet you Lucy" Yanni shook my hand and smiled.
"Yeah ahah woah nice to meet you too" I smiled back.
She stayed over for dinner and we talked and got to know each other.Halfway through the meal the doorbell rang again. My mom got up and came back with another sexy girl?? what is up with that, it's like they grow on trees around here lmao. Anyways, my mom introduced this girl as Ilaria.
As soon as Yanni saw her, she briefly froze, before quickly saying "Haha hi Ilaria fancy seeing you here" and then under her breath so only I could hear "bitch." I looked over, startled at the venom in her voice. Before I could ask her about it, Ilaria came over and hugged me in greeting.
"Omg finally you guys are here! we've been waiting for someone to move in here forever! My family was planning on coming by tomorrow, but I just couldn't wait!" Her exclamations were in earnest to where they seemed almost fake. She left soon after, promising to bring her sister tomorrow.
Yanni got up to leave as well. We said our goodbyes when suddenly she leaned over and kissed my cheek. I turned red at the sensation of her pillow-soft lips so close to mine. As soon as it began it was over and Yanni was gone.
