Percy's POV

"Yo, Perce! Hurry up, man. You're gonna make us late!" Jake, one of Percy's friends, patted Percy on the back as they headed towards the locker room. Percy laughed as he jogged to catch up to him and the rest of the group.

Although the group was not very popular, or large, they were very close. The group consisted of Jake, Sarah, Sam, and Jordan. Jake was the star basketball player, and would be the most popular guy if he did not chose to hang out with the rest of them. He had electric blue eyes and blonde hair, reminding Percy a little of Jason. Sarah, Jake's girlfriend, was extremely smart. She was top of the class, but was not a stickler for the rules. She loved to prank people, but teachers never caught her because they assumed she was a goody two shoes. She had dark brown hair and lots of freckles. Sam, on the other hand, was the class clown. He loved a good prank, but he always got caught. He normally took the fall for the pranks Sarah pulled in exchange for homework answers. Sam had dirty blond hair with brown eyes, and he had a major crush on Jordan. Jordan also had a crush on him, but they both were too scared to ask each other out. Jordan had strawberry blond hair and green eyes. She was a theater genius and was looking to go on Broadway someday.

Percy ran up to the group and threw his arms around Sarah and Sam, dragging them forward to gym. "You know Coach Hedge will kill us if we're late!" Coach Hedge was the gym teacher at Goode. He took the job to help cover for Percy when he needed to make a quick escape to fight a monster.

"He won't kill you, Percy. You're his favorite," Jordan stated dryly. Percy just shrugged before walking into the locker room as the girls walked into theirs. They all quickly changed before running out, just before the final bell rang.

"Listen up, Cupcakes!" Coach Hedge strolled out of his office, baseball bat in hand. "Today we're doing a little something special. I want no complaining from any of you, and you will all be respectful to our guest teacher."

"Just get on with it. What are we doing," Caleb, the stuck up jock and most popular guy in the school, drawled. He got away with anything because his dad was rich, but Coach Hedge was not one to be intimidated.

"As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted," Coach shot a glare at Caleb, "Today we are sword fighting! And your teacher will be Annabeth Chase!"

Percy's head snapped up as Annabeth walked out of Coach Hedge's office, wooden sword in hand. As he surveyed the room, he realized there was a box of wooden swords in the center. Annabeth was right, he was a Seaweed Brain.

"As Coach said, my name is Annabeth and I will be teaching you the basics of sword fighting. I want you all to grab a sword and pick a partner. I notice there are an odd number so one of you unlucky students will be my partner," Annabeth explained. Percy went up to grab a random sword from the bin before turning to Annabeth. As he did so, Caleb came up behind him and shoved him hard in the shoulder. Percy was not expecting it, and fell forward to the ground at Annabeth's feet.

Annabeth, being Annabeth, simply raised and eyebrow before offering him a hand to stand up. "You always seem to be falling for me."

Percy grabbed her hand and pulled himself up, "What are you doing here, Wise Girl? I thought you were at school in Cali?"

Annabeth shrugged. "I got in trouble with some hellhounds and the kicked me out. There's only a month left so I didn't think it was worth enrolling somewhere else. I was at camp for one night when Coach told me I could surprise you at school, and I couldn't turn down that opportunity. Now, speaking of why I'm here," Annabeth trailed off before picking up much louder than before, "Okay. Now that you all have your partners I am going to show you some basic maneuvers on my partner."

Annabeth walked them through some simple strike and parry drills before going around to supervise with Percy following her like a lost puppy.

"Hey! You gonna actually use that sword or are you too dumb to figure it out?" Caleb taunted.

"What do you say Percy? There's twenty minutes left in class. Do you think you'll lose that fast?" Annabeth asked.

"I don't know, do you think you'll lose that fast?" Percy countered.

"You have terrible comebacks, Seaweed Brain."

"But you love me anyways." Annabeth just rolled her eyes before grabbing two swords and tossing one to Percy. The class looked on in confusion at their interaction, but they both ignored them.

Percy and Annabeth tapped their swords together twice before starting to circle each other.

"You sure you want to use a sword? You're a little out of your element," Percy commented as he lunged at Percy.

They traded a few quick blows that were impossible for the mortals to follow before they bork apart again. "I can still beat you in less than ten minutes." Annabeth smirked.

"We'll see about that, Wise Girl," Percy replied.

After that, they moved as one, blocking and striking at inhuman speeds. They knew each other so well that all the moves were predictable. They kept getting quicker and quicker until Annabeth's unfamiliarity with the sword betrayed her. Percy knew this, and decided to take advantage of it. He did the disarming move that Luke taught him by twisting Annabeth's sword around and out of her hand. When Annabeth went to counter, she acted on instinct, but did not account for the added encumbrance the sword would bring. The whole class watched as Annabeth's sword flew out of her hand and Percy pointed his sword at Annabeth's neck.

Percy relaxed the sword before smirking at Annabeth, "Finally admit I win?"

"It was only because I was using a sword. Any other time and I would have won," Annabeth protested.

"Of course you would." During this conversation, Annabeth and Percy took steps towards each other until they were nose to nose. Percy smiled before capturing Annabeth's lips in a kiss. "I missed you, Wise Girl."

"What the hell?" Sam exclaimed.

"For once I agree with the looser. Since when did Jackson get a girlfriend?" Caleb founded his arms.

"Shut up Caleb, I am done dealing with you and your drama. You have no affect on my life, so stop trying," Percy left Caleb with his jaw dropped before turning to his friends, "Oh, ya. Guys meet Annabeth. Annabeth meet my friends," Percy looked proud of his introduction.

"Sorry about this idiot, I'm Jordan, this is Sarah, that's Sam, and last and certainly least is Jake," Jordan explained.

"It's nice to finally meet you all, Percy has said a lot about you guys!" Annabeth replied.

"Well I would be lying if I said Percy had ever said anything about you," Sarah said.

Percy rubbed the back of his neck, refusing to make eye contact with Annabeth.

Annabeth turned to Percy, "We will talk about that later, but we should probably get going. I got Sally to write you a note, but Thalia is at your house with Nico. Alone."

"Alone? They're gonna burn down the house in one of their fights!" Percy whined, "Well, bye guys. I'll see you Monday! Bye Coach!"

"Bye," the group chorused.

"See you later, Cupcakes." Coach smiled before turning back to the class, "Hit the locker rooms and get changed!"

Percy gave Annabeth a kiss before giving her a piggyback ride to the parking lot to head to camp.

Okay. This is really bad but it's gonna take me a bit to get used to writing one shots. If you have any feedback please give it! Also, I wrote this first because it won the vote on my other story. Don't worry though! I am going to start writing the other stories too, this is just what I am starting with. I will be updating this at random times, just whenever I feel inspired, but other than that I will try to update my other stories more periodically.  I love you all and thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this! If you have ideas for one shots or other longer stories please comment them and I will work on writing them!! I love you all and I hope you all have a great day!
