I saw the pain in his eyes as Bennett knew his time had come to an end. I didn't care that it was contagious, all I cared about was to be with him when it hurt the most. He started to whisper something in my ear, but the lord told me to get back to work. I scurried away in agony, for my best friend had faded away right in front of me. But, the fact that I didn't even get to know what his last words would've been is somehow worse.
