PART XIII | jealousy blossoms
The unsuspecting Freya comes home bearing apologies for Yoongi. It took her hours out longer than she initially planned. She glances at the untouched meal and cake on the table as she passes by the kitchen, heart wrenching somehow.
Freya takes a deep breath as she holds the doorknob to her office before turning it. "I'm so sorry I just got back. Jungkook wanted to eat firs—" She cuts off whatever kind of excuse she was trying to say as her eyes falls on a strange figure standing before the mirror.
"Who are yo— Yoongi?!" Freya gasped as a hand pushes through the mirror and straight away choking the intruder on his neck.
Freya runs to yank off Yoongi's grip from the guy. The stranger struggles underneath the hard hold, coughing and grunting, at the same time forming incoherent words. Yoongi finally removes his hand and pushed the man away from Freya with just one hand. The guy backed away, gasping for air as he bows down and rests his hands against his knees, chasing his breath.
"Wh-who?" Freya looks at Yoongi, who has his eyebrows furrowed and his face in an obvious scowl. His eyes holding an evident death stare against the stranger.
Yoongi is mad?
She opens her mouth to ask him further as the other guy is still recovering from what Yoongi did. But Yoongi is already moving out of the mirror and Freya is panicking.
Why are you showing him all this?!
"Yoongi," Freya's hand wraps around his forearm once he has finally crossed over, concerned with the anger protruding from his angelic face. Quite surprising but Freya tries to remain calm.
The hooded stranger falls to the ground, knee first, and Freya watched closely as his shoulders shook. Deep, dark chuckle echoes around the small room, making Freya's hairs on her arm stands. Her hold on Yoongi tightens.
"Now I get it," Freya's eyes widen, recognizing the deep voice finally. Her suspicion is fully confirmed once the guy removes the hood from covering his head and finally looked up to look Freya in the eye.
"Taehyung!" Freya gasped, earning a look from Yoongi.
"So it's true?" Yoongi asks, anger clear in his voice. There is one thing Freya failed to tell Yoongi and it's where she got the picture. She ignores Yoongi's question and focused all her attention to Taehyung, the man who barged into her apartment and the same man who gave Freya the idea that crossing universes is actually possible through the mirror — which Yoongi may or may not have found out from the guy himself.
Yoongi then removes Freya's hand that was wrapped around his forearm and stepped a distance away from her. Freya looked at him, worry and fear creeping into her heart. "Yoongi ..."
"You told him about the mirror, didn't you?" Yoongi asks Freya as Taehyung stands up. Freya shakes her head and opens her mouth but Taehyung steals her moment.
"I said I'd be back." He focuses his attention to Freya whose glassy eyes are filled with unspeakable dread. "I'm here to take what's rightfully mine." His eyes narrows the mirror and Yoongi catches it.
"That's not happening." Yoongi opposes.
"But Freya agreed if I talked about Tammy—"
"I did no—"
"What!?" Yoongi whipped his head towards Freya. His cold eyes now glaring at her."No!" Freya gasped before turning to face Taehyung, pushing him with both of her hands. "I didn't say I'd give it to you!"
"Why else would I've agreed in talking to you? We made a deal. I talk, I get the mirror." Taehyung responds, crossing his arms across his chest. It's as if he's not even fazed by the magic in the mirror or the existence of Yoongi and it's all getting in Freya's nerves. Freya chose not to response and turned to Yoongi instead— who is fuming.
