"Wow." Was the first word that I said that had made my jaw drop in aw. "Gorgeous." was the second, and "Close your mouth before ants start crawling in there!" Was Alisha's first. I had been staring at Drew, the guy who i had been waiting for. My complete crush, but i caught him staring at me tons of times last year so it looks like we both have the same feelings for each other. Those were our first words in the cafeteria at school for the first year of Grade 10. "Kristen!" Alisha exclaimed. I finally stopped staring and looked at Leesh and carried on in the line for the food at school. "Meatloaf? Again?" I said as I raised an eyebrow at Dylan. Dylan was our guy friend who always seemed to come around the corner at the greatest and sometimes weirdest times. Usually with a video camera. "Gross! there is green beans in it!" Leesh said. I can't believe the food they feed the students here, I mean I have been for 2 years -this is my third- and they still feed the meatloaf, grain buns, carrots, and sometimes good snacks to us. There is no way i'm letting them feed me this all year." Let's just get all this over with and eat it then take off." Dylan says. "Ditto" I respond. So we eat, gather our bags, and head to 3rd period. " I have Art, so see you guys later" Leesh says. "We have English, bye." Dylan and I say. Dylan pulls out his camera and looks at me and presses record. " Dylan! " I shout. "C'mon Liz, a little bit of a fame feeling could help you right now." He says while holding the camera at my face. " What are you talking about Dylan?" I ask, " Oh please, Alisha and I both know you have a thing for Drew Barkley. He responds to me as he shuts off his camera. " No! I don't! Okay how did you know?" I whisper in a nervous tone. This is a bit embarrassing, what if Hannah and Dev find out, there the most popular girls in school, and they could embarrass me in front of everyone. "Kris, don't worry about a thing, your secret is safe with me." He says safely. "And Dylan, when you said Oh please, Alisha and I both know you have a thing for Drew Barkley, you sounded completely gay. Bye!" I say with a very big grin on my face and walked away to English without him. " Wait Kris! I thought we were gonna be partners for English today!"Dylan shouts down the hall." Did i really sound gay?" He mutters silently. Dring Dring! went the school bell. Everyone gathered there bags and headed out the door. " Thank god that is over!" Dev says to Hannah. " Actually I find that English is great, at least when i see you totally mess up and have a hissy fit." I say with a sarcastic smile on my face. " Well maybe the reason you like English so much is because it's for dorks, and your one." Dev says as Hannah snorts." Really? You sound like a 5th grader Dev." I say with a grin and a rolling of the eyes. And there he was, Drew walking out the door with his buddies. " Kris! Eyes over here!" Dylan says while he snaps a few times in my face. "sorry,I guess I just can't - Nevermind..." I doze off about. Whenever I see that guy Chase, Drew's friend, i get a weird feeling. A feeling I've seen him from somewhere. Anyways... "Hey, Kris? Are you okay?" Dylan says as Leesh walks over texting on her cellphone for, hey! The eight millionth time! Haha, well, better stop thinking about this and answer Dylan. "Yeah, i'm fine." I respond cluelessly. " So what's next?" I ask them. "Well we could either go for a milkshake at Dod's, or go chill at one of our place's." Dylan suggests. " Or, we could go to the mall!" Leesh says as she sends out a great big smile. "Let's go to my place." I say simply. So Leesh and I start walking and we ask this at the same time, " Are you coming?!" " Can we make milkshakes there?" Dylan asks us. " Urgghh. Just come on!" I exclaim as Leesh rolls her eyes. " Bye Dylan, thanks for staying for dinner." I say with a wave. " Leesh, let's go to a movie! It's a Friday night and we have no homework to deal with!" I say raising an eyebrow. "Okay! Let's go to Bridge Of Faith!" Leesh suggests. "Leesh that's a romantic comedie, you know how i feel about those!" I exclaim, 'Fine, we'll go to Bridge Of Faith." I say while i walk to my room. Now I gotta pick out an outfit, considering Alisha wore something movie like to school. " I'll wear this! My black seethrough cardigan, dark denim skinny jeans, and white lace tank! With my Black and White purse and knee-high black xheel boots ovcourse." I say while getting changed into the outfit. " Perfect!"Leesh exclaimes with a bright teethy smile. " Now let's go!" Alisha demands. So we head to the movie theatre and find a seat, "Wow, this place is packed." I whisper to Ally. Eh. My. Gawd. I'ts Drew and Dev! With Chase and Hannah! I swear, that Chase guy. he looks so fimiliar! But i don't recall from where and why it feels so important. " Hey, Leesh! There's Drew,oh crap he's coming up the ile!" I whisper to her, "Kris, it's okay just chill. And act normal." She says. Drew walks up the ile and stops when he sees me. "Hey Kristen, what are you doing here?" He asks. "Oh, you know just watching the movie." I say so very nervously. " Hey Alisha, you mind if I borrow Kristen for a few minutes?" He asks her. " Oh, uhh, no! Go ahead!" She says as she grins at me. " Go! " she says. " I'm going, i'm going!" I respond with a dirty look on my face for Leesh. I am so nervous, maybe he wants to just borrow some money, hopefully. We get into the lobby and he says: " So, Kristen, we kinda had a weird and rough relationship the past few years." Drew says. " Yeah, I guess." I say like an idiot. "So, I was wondering, if you'd like to go out on a date with me sometime?" He asks me. Wow, Drew Barkley, the guy of my dreams is asking ME out. " Absolutely! Uhh, I mean, sure!" I say like a dork. " great so Sunday at 6:00 pm. I'll pick you up." "Okay cool, but what are you doing here with Dev?" I ask suspiciously. "Oh that's nothing Chase and Hannah wanted to bring Dev and I so, we went to be generous." Drew says while he pays for his popcorn. "Okay, i won't worry then. Right? Your not gonna just take all the girls you can get and then ditch them are you?" I ask him while I unwrinkle his leather jacket collar. " Nope. So see you Sunday at 6:00 sharp?" Drew says flirtily. " Absolutely, Positively, Drew." I respond, " Great. So I guess i'll see ya?" He says while he walks me to my seat. " Yup. Bye!" I whisper. " Bye hot stuff!" Drew says when he did something that made me tingle. He. Kissed. Me. Him kissing me made me tingle in ways i've never felt before, and my skin felt frozen for the first touch of his lips pressed against mine. My blood swished around my body like never before and lastly, I blushed. Really hard. And thank God that he probably couldn't tell because of the darkness of the room. Either way, I knew I was blushing badly and my face was as red as a summer rose. Drew walked away with a grin and I smiled then said: " Wait, Drew. Come back here for a sec." I said as I wrote my number on his palm. " And one more thing," I kissed him again and made him feel what I did. It lasted about a whole minute. But then Dev saw, and gave me a dirty look then waited for Drew to sit down then scooched closer to him and attempted to rest her head on his shoulder and send him a smooch on the cheek, but he leaned away and pushed her to the other way. Wow, he really is interested. " Kris, what happened out there? I saw the kiss but don't know what happened before it. " Ally asked me," Nothing important, just that him and I have a date Sunday at six." I whisper back to her. "No questions asked" she said to me while shoving popcorn into her mouth like a man. When the movie ends we head home and snooze untill we wake up in the morning starving for blueberry pancakes. " Is it just me or does it smell and sound like your mom is making pancakes?" Leesh asks me with a yawn.
