"Professor Dumbledore, but I don't understand...exactly." Annalise said with confusion as she sat in one of the over-sized chairs in his legendary office.
"I didn't expect you to...Annalise...you do remember, what occurred last year, here at Hogwarts, when I said to Miss. Granger and Mr. Potter... 'If you succeed tonight, more than one innocent life may be spared.'...the same applies to you Miss. Catwell." he said as he leaned in slowly toward her.
Annalise felt her mouth drop slowly and her eyes widen. "Uhhhhhh... you want me to -change?- the story? But, Professor Dumbledore, that, that is-"
"A tedious task I understand."
She stared at the ground and nodded.
"So, Cedric, Sirius, uhh you-" she continued as she gravely looked up at the Professor nodding slowly in front of her.
"Hedwig, Dobby, Fred, Remus, Tonks, and Professor Snape." she breathed as she finished the lengthy list she had counted on her fingers.
"I understand not all can be saved and some simply may need to happen to keep the story moving forward." Dumbledore said as he seemed to scan the young girl before him.
"You don't have to carry on with this-"
Annalise's head snapped up to meet his.
"No I will do this." She said more to herself than anyone.
"What happened to my life before this? My parents?"
"You are a muggleborn witch transferring from America, this is what everyone around you, including your parents believe."
"You need to be as close to the Golden Trio as possible, you understand? It depends on it."
Silence seemed to echoed between them till a small smile glazed Annalise.
"Gryffindor, then?" she giggled to herself.
"Precisely." He replied with a mirroring smile.
"All possessions of yours and of use will be located in the 4th year girls dorm, I trust you are aware of where to go?" He questioned as his eyes twinkled and he rose a eyebrow.
"I should be" she said when she stood and sent a smile.She walked slowly toward the door.
"Oh and by the way Professor?" She questioned as she swiftly turned. "Call me Anna."
