6 The Adventure Begins

"Wow..... My feet really hurt..." I told Payton. "Mine too!" Said Payton. Payton and I had become like Besties the last two days.

I still can't believe my parents don't care I'm gone. Payton's parents were kind of like mine. They beat her though. That's sad. My parents would only hit me when they were mad, not full on beat me.

"Can we take a break?" She asked me. "I have asthma..." She said. Wow..... "Why didn't you tell me?" I asked her. "I don't know..." She said ashamed. I heard a crack of a branch. "Shhhh..." I whisperd. "He's back..." She said to me. We hid behind a rock. Again we had to be dead sigh-lent. We heard him put the bullet in place. Oh no....

HAZEL POV

It was 8:55.... "When are we gonna leave?" I asked Montana. "In five minutes!" He said. "We are leaving at exactly 9:00?" I grinned. "YASSS!" Kansas laughed.

"Kids," my mom said. "Yeah?" I asked her curiously. "We are going to bed!" She said. It's 8:59. 9:00....

"Mom, we are going for a walk!" Kansas shouted. "Alright! Not too late!" My dad answered.

"I can't believe we got out that easy!" I told the both of them once we got outside. We looked at the top of the mountain(We live right across from it). "Looks like we have our work cut out for us..." Montana laughed. "Common, we better get going." Kansas said so seriously. He is never that serious. "Who woke up on the wrong side of the bed?" I asked. "Sorry, I'm just worried." He blushed. I think he likes her.... He has a a GF.... Oh well!

Just then, we heard a bang from the mountain....
