Mario came home after a long, hard day helping people. He was tired and starving. He needed food. Once he was inside his house, something was...off about it. Just something didn't feel right to him.
Mario looked around but nothing seemed out of place but soon he figured it out. His brother wasn't here. Luigi would usually greet Mario the second he entered the house but he wasn't here. Mario pulled his phone to see if he text him or something and he just missed it.
But there was no message from him. Mario only had other notifications but not one from his brother. Still started to worry him. Where was his brother? The first instinct was to call him but Mario remembered that Luigi has that call with Daisy this morning.
He's probably with Daisy. Mario thought. Nothing to worry about...I hope.
Mario went to the kitchen to make himself something to eat. He was still worried about his brother. He didn't text him or leave a note to tell him where he was. Mario did it all the time when he leaves and Luigi wasn't home. Of course, Luigi could have simply forgotten but it was still worrisome.
Mario made up a salad for himself. He wasn't feeling like eating his usual food because when he's worried the food just comes right back out. He went and sat on the sofa and began eating his salad. The salad wasn't big enough to fill him up but would hold him off until breakfast tomorrow.
Everything was quiet and peaceful. All that could heard was a ticking clock or the crickets outside. Mario sat there, looking up at the ceiling. He was daydreaming. Trying to stay awake for his brother to come home but sleep hit him hard. Soonly Mario couldn't keep his eyes open and fell asleep.

Mario reawoken and his head felt dizzy. He was still on the couch but he was laying down now and had a blanket draped over him. He rubbed his eyes as he sat up. The light from the sun blinded him for a second.
"Brother! You're awake!" Luigi's voice came through loud and clear.
Mario turned to see his brother making breakfast. He groaned a little as he got up. He walked over to the counter and sat on the little chairs on it.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you where I was, Mario. I shouldn't have left you so worried." Luigi said, looking down as he makes breakfast. He felt so ashamed for leaving his brother so worried. What brother does that?
Not Luigi that's what.
"It's fine, Luigi. I'm not mad at you but where were you anyways?" Mario responded, trying to wake himself up. He had a good indication of where Luigi could have been but he had to ask. Just to make sure.
"Princess Daisy is planning a party for the ENTIRE Mushroom Kingdom and she wanted ME to help her host it!" Luigi said, putting the food on the plates. He said it with a bigggggg smile on his face. He was the happiest man on earth.
(Shut up. I know the Mario Universe is probably not on earth but we're calling it that because I don't know what else to call it. Anyways back to the story.)
"Really? And she sends you to get the area she picked ready for this party?" Mario asked, leaning on his hand. He knew that's why Luigi was gone.
"Yes! How did you know?" Luigi asked as he sits down next to Mario. He passes a plate of food to his brother.
"I'm your brother, Luigi and I also know how the princesses set up their parties. That's why." Mario said before taking a bite of his breakfast. He stared at his brother with a smile.
"Oh...well the party is tonight so I have eat and go." Luigi said, trying to finish his breakfast quickly. "Everything we need for this party is already here so we just need to set it up."
