"It all started when"

I look outside the window and see no one. Absolutely no one. This has never happened. Even though we live in a small town, there would always be a neighbor or two outside having a conversation or walking their dogs but nobody was outside today.

Weird.

I shrug it off and go downstairs to eat. I walk into the kitchen and greet my parents. The only problem was that my parents weren't there. I checked the house and called their names to see if anyone would respond but nobody answered.

What was going on?

I ate some cereal (like always) and get all my stuff so I could head to school. I get my keys and lock the door.

I walked to school and waited at my friends house but she never came out so I just walked the rest of the way. I went to the cafeteria but no one was there. In fact no one was in the halls either. I start to panic.

I crouched down against the wall and started to map out some possibilities on what might have happened. When I was halfway done I heard a familiar voice scream "Hello" and "Anyone there?".

I groaned.

Out of all the people I had to be stuck with why did it have to be him. The class bully. I heard him run towards me so I got up. His footsteps came closer and closer until I could see him. But he wasn't the only one there.

I sat down with Chaim ,the bully, and it turned out, the same thing had happened to him too. He found Vita, the class clown, and they were searching to see if there were more people. That's when they found me.

When he finished the story we heard a knock from the door. We ran to the door looking to see if someone else was still here but all that was left was a box.

We looked at each other surprised.

We went outside to try and catch the person who left the box but there was no one to be seen. We gave up and went back inside to investigate.

"What do you think is inside," Vita asked.

"I don't know," I say, "Do you think we should open it?"

"Sure what's the worst that could happen," Said Chaim. He opened the box and found a note which read:

Chaim's hands were shaking as he read the note

He looked up and passed the note to me and Vita.

"Everyone was kidnapped...," I say once I finished reading the note.

"Yeah but who kidnapped them?" Chaim asked.

"I don't know but we have to find them" Vita said, "Whoever this box person is has our family. There must be a reason why they would have chosen us. Probably cause of my stunning good looks"

I roll my eyes as she flips her hair.

We got up from where they were sitting and decided to investigate the rest of town. It was pretty small with a distance of about 1 mile in length and 1 mile in width. It took us an hour to investigate but by the time we were finished the sun was about to go down.

"Ok meet up at school tomorrow?" Chaim asked

"Yeah and keep on lookout for anymore boxes. Text us if you find anything." Vita says

"Ok," Chaim and I say in unison.

"See you tomorrow," I say to them. I ran home and ate some food. I wasn't the best cook but I managed to make some weird dish that was edible. I go upstairs and take a shower. The warm water clearing the thoughts from my head. I changed and went downstairs to watch some tv but something was waiting for me at the kitchen counter.

Another box.
