“The Adventures of Agent Double C” – Rough Draft
Ring, Ring, Ring!!! There goes the lunch bell.
“Oh My Gosh, was it just me? Did you guys not see Zack today?” said Sydney head cheerleader and most popular girl at Turner Elementary.
“Eeeeeeeeeeeeep!!! Yes, yes, yes and the shirt he is wearing really bring out the blue of his eyes. They are as blue as the water in my swimming pool. So dreamy. So wonderful!” continued Khole
“Heeeey guys! What are the haps?” said Riley, joining the popular girls table.
A moment of awkwardness passed. In the nick of time all six girls relocated to a new table leaving Riley by herself. She was use to this sort of behaviour. Ever since the first day of junior kindergarten Riley could never fit in. Her only friend was Zack and even he was starting to stray once they entered third grade. Riley is 8 years old and the top of her class. She ate long division for breakfast with a side of multiplication.
From a distance, Riley could see Zack approaching her. He stood on the other side of the cafeteria and waved. She waved him over to sit with her. As he came he noticed something furry hanging out of her backpack.
While grabbing the teddy bear in Riley’s backpack, Zack says “I cannot believe you are still carrying around that silly little teddy bear! What’s that around his neck? A cape? Oh brother… how lame.”
“Don’t make fun. It’s the only thing my mother left me when she left me.”
“It’s this kind of thing that ruins MY rep. This is also why everyone hates you. That and your math skills.
Zack threw the poor teddy bear across the room into a garbage can.
“SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOREEEEE” he shouted.
“COOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDYY” she shrieked.
The cafeteria roared with laughter from all the little boys and girls. None of the teachers were successful in calming the students. They laughed and laughed. Riley retrieved Cody then ran to the bathroom in a hurry.
“I don’t care what any of those kids say Cody. You are my teddy. My most prized possession. And my favourite thing in the whole wide world.” Riley expressed as she cleansed Cody.
As soon as Riley got home she clicked on the TV to Nickelodeon, fed her pet fish and warmed herself up some leftover pepperoni pizza then sat on the couch to watch Spongebob Squarepants with Cody.
“Hahahahaha! Oh Patrick is the funniest sea creature in all of Bikini Bottom, don’t you think?”
“Mija, you know I don’t watch these kiddie shows” said nanny Agapita from the laundry room.
Nanny Agapita is Spanish decent. Riley finds it fascinating that her name is the female version of Agapito which means beloved in her language. Nanny Agapita has been taking care of Riley ever since she was 5. They’ve grown fond of one another.
“C’mon mija, don’t waste all your time with this programa de televisión. Get to your homewok!”
“Ohhh okay!” replied Riley.” Let’s go Cods.”
Riley grabbed her backpack and dragged it up the stairs. Once in her room, she flicked on her lamp, sat at her desk and got right to her homework.
“Mrs. Bennett always gives this kind of homework. Easy peasy” she muttered.
