What You Were Supposed To Be.

Survivor Of Now

He's a survivor. He won. He beat you. He put blood sweat and tears into his adventure to outrun you, until he realized he didn't need try.

Because you outran him. You turned tail and ran, disappearing without even saying goodbye.

See he didn't understand how powerful he was. That he had that much control over you, that he got what he wanted most. His first choice,

You out of his life. He moved on. Standing up for himself, for those who couldn't, and for those who wouldn't. He gave them what he never had

while he was in your claws- a voice.  And he thought that felt pretty damn good. So he kept doing it. Then he got what you could have had if you

Would have fought like he did. A heart.  Then he used his brain. And he got himself a friend. And then he learned the same trick that you did, but

better.  See it only keeps working if you use what you learned to grow.  So he found his favorite thing to do. Learn. With learning came knowledge,

with knowledge came experience, with experience came wisdom, with wisdom, came sarcasm, with sarcasm came humor, with humor came

friends, with friends came love, with love came happinness.

Now he's somebody. Somebody people depend on. You told him that by the time he was an adult he'd be rotting in prison. He's an adult who has

had the craziest experience. The light at the end of the tunnel. He did what you couldn't. He faced the music of his past, said goodbye to tomorrow,

and grew, and loved, and laughed.  He did it right. He is what you were supposed to be. And know what else?
