Sergei Dragunov Childhood Headcanons

So this is going to delve largely into my own ideas and thoughts as Sergei has absolutely zero backstory and of course doesn't emote or hint at anything in anyway so this is completely up just to my own imagination

-Sergei was born into a military family out of necessity. They were often poor which forced most to enlist. It is family duty and out of need that they are military. His father's tough resolve led him to becoming a very decorated and high ranking official.

-Sergei grew up a shy child and closed off as his father was very harsh and actually would hurt those who talked back to him. He stayed by his mother at most times feeling safe with her and talking almost only to her.

-His brothers all much older enlisted as well and left quickly. He was considered the runt of them not because of his size but because he preferred books and music to fighting.

-His mother loved to sing and taught him how whenever his father was gone. He never sang around him as he would say it was for women and not men.

-He got bullied in school for being incredibly pale, even his mother is surprised how pale he is but no matter how much he played outside it didn't help. She called him her little snow angel. The kids would claim he was a ghoul and started to pick fights with him. He disliked violence and would try to run.

-After coming home bruised again his father angrily taught him how to fight. He forced him to claiming he needed to become a real man. He was only 11.

-"Shut up boy."

"Speak up boy."

"If I wanted to hear a girls voice I would have had one."

-He enjoyed taking the train to Moscow with his mother every few months when she would visit family, it would be just them two and they would eat sweets and laugh and even sing together.

-She would die later when enemies of his father attacked their house. She hid him in a cupboard and most of their family was killed. When he came out of hiding hours later only his father was left alive.

-His father became a drunk and pushed blame onto him for letting his mother die out of cowardice and weakness.

"If you could fight your mother would still be alive."

"Weakling. Some son of mine."

-Sergei would become mute afterwards speaking only when told to. He continued training to fight and even found the boys who had bullied them and left them bloodied in the streets so that everyone knew to leave him alone after that.

-He worked as a military errand boy and ended up making friends with the older soldiers there who helped him get better at fighting. One of them named Boris pitied him and often lent him books and took him to listen to music at times.

-Sergei from the strict lifestyle would become one of the most motivated and tactical fighters the Spetznaz had ever seen not blinded by emotions that dulled over the years. He hit a growth spurt and become incrediby strong.

-His father later died in a drunk accident and he would not attend he funeral. He was then given a high ranking chain in command due to his father's rank but also because of his incredible skill.
