I knew this girl ever since i was just a baby. She's a year older than me and I've always looked up to her. But, one day, she was taken from me. I didn't quite understand it, I was only 4. The only thing I knew is my best friend was gone. I had no idea when she was coming back. Years past, her father gave up. Her mother and I were the only people who even dared to keep looking for her. We searched everywhere. Most people would look at us amazed that a 7 year old would even be worrying herself with this. Pretty soon, people finally joined in after I had finally expained what I saw and why I was even putting myself through this.
I was bullied in school because they thought that I was stupid for trying to look for a dead girl. But then, that wasn't the only reason I was being bullied. Even so, I continued to look for her. I was in 3rd grade when I was the only one who wanted to continue looking for her. I looked for months, years, pretty much my whole life. Until, finally, she was released and I found her on a curb when I was 14. I still had the picture I was given of her when I was 5. The first thing I did when I went up to her was show her the picture. What she did shocked me. She ran and she ran. I didn't understand what was actually going on, but I still ran after her. i ran and ran until I saw her sitting at the park completely out of breath. This time, I slowly approached her. I said a gentle "Hi" to her. At first, she just cringed away since she had no energy left. Then she finally spoke, "Who are you?" I was shocked that she didn't recognize me, but then I realized I was 14, not 4. "Andie." She looked at me strangely for a minute and then she started rambling about "It can't be." and some other stuff that I coudn't understand. When she finally stopped talking she rammed into me and had her arms around my neck. All I could do was hug her back. "You found me. How?" I told her simply, "I've been looking for you since the day you were taken." She was amazed that I had looked for her for 10 years. She pulled away from me and started looking at me up and down, and I noticed that her eyes had stopped on my arm. She didn't say anything for a few minutes, just looked. She noticed i was getting slightly uncomfortable, a feeling she had felt for years, and sat down, pulling me down with her. She questioned me for what seemed like hours, and I had no response for her. I stayed silent. She wanted answers, and I knew that. i just wanted to know where she was for 10 years. When she finally told me, it was something that I had never expected.

(A/N:) Yes, this is a true story. My best friend was one of the many children abducted. Just a warning.....I may get some things wrong considering she told me this right before she died from what happened to her. Her story wasn't posted anywhere for almost 3 straight years, and it's time that someone finally does. I never wrote what she said because i was too in-the-moment to actually do it. I don't remember everything, and somethings may have happened at different times, but it's the best i can do. Love you guys. I hope you make this story known to others so things like these could finally stop happening. Her story may not stop it from happening. But it's a start from where the country stopped a long time ago. <3 Please share. It means everything to me.
