Glinting Silver

Chapter 12

I'm up, I'm up. I growled. My black out lasted about ten seconds, and now I was awake and fighting again. I rolled to my paws and started nosing Domino. He was very cold, but he was sweating. His arm was red, the rest of him white.

"Juniper, Belle, Bliss! I don't believe it." Starling murmured. Bliss beat her tail and put her nose in his palm. I guess love was in the air today. But my love was being torn from me. I was almost ripping myself apart getting back to human.

"Domino, Domino, Domino." I whispered, running to him. Max looked a bit hurt that I had not greeted him, my brother, as well. Starling was still petting Bliss.

Very gently, I lifted Domino's flaming arm to look at the wound. It was basically a jagged hole, crusted with blood and yellow and red. It was so obviously poisoned it wasn't funny. I put my arms around him and shouted horrible curse words I had picked up from Kim. Kim. KIM!

I whirled around and grabbed the collar of her shirt, almost lifting her off the ground. She looked shocked. My hair was fizzing behind me, a tangle of red that almost burst into flames.

"Do your thing on him." I hissed, my voice dripping with menace. Kim gulped, ducking her head to hide behind her hair. Alistair was watching me closely, and as soon asI dropped Kim, she was in his arms.

"I'Ll find some stuff, okay?" Alistair said. He turned to wolf and loped out the open shed door.

"Hold him down. This will cause him a lot of pain. If he wakes up, keep him pinned." Kim said. She had a bowl and a spoon and was mixing a strange cobalt blue paste. I put my hands on Domino's arm, one on each side of the poisoned cut.

Starling and Max had their arms over his legs, ready to pin him if he sat up. Kim nervously took the paste and moulded it into a ball. Then she closed her eyes and started chanting.

"Wey nara sakuuuriyano. Taki imma sey!" She broke off to slam the blue ball onto Domino's arm. The paste bubbled and sink into his wound. Even though my wall was strong, I felt a burning sensation.

"Keyanora." Kim snarled. She took out a flask of green liquid and opened the cap. "Keybota. Seesbo." She mumbled quietly as she poured the bottle.

The second the liquid touched his arm Domino flipped. He started convulsing, thrashing his good arm and kicking out and screaming. Starling and Max threw themselves ontop of him to keep him still.

"Arrrgh!" Domino howled.
"Argh!" I screamed.

The pain was affecting both of us. I let go of his arm and grabbed his face, snapping his head to look at me. Domino's eyes were cloudy, and he was still screaming. It didn't seem to affect Kim, who kept pouring that stuff in.

"Domino snap out of it ignore the pain." I said. He was gazing at me wondrously, then his head fell back. I screamed. My own pain was fading, It was like it had never been there in the first place.

"Rieni!" Kim shouted. She said it so fiercely it was obviously a swear word. I put my hands on his heart. There was no beat.

I was screaming and swearing and Kim was throwing things on him and everyone was yelling at there were police sirens getting louder and I felt that my brain was going to bleed out of my ears. I ran and thumped on Domino's chest, his eyes stayed closed.

The police sirens were almost deafening now. I was screaming my head off when Kim pulled out a syringe marked 'Cobra Venom' and stuck it in his neck.

Then five men in blue uniforms burst in and started pointing guns at us. Then we were all screaming, police included, because Alistair came in still in wolf form. One of the police let his gun fly, and exploded a hole in the wall.

"Grab Domino and run!" I shouted. Then we all went wolf, grabbed Domino and ran for it. But oh yes. The police were blocking the frickin doorway, so we splintered the back wall and all of us, Me Starling Max Bliss Belle Kim Alistair and Domino, went charging off into the blue.
