luci's pov
we landed with a big bounce, and a few jumps more making people close their eyes, hold their breath, and reach out for dear life. once we we finally halted, i opened my eyes frantically looking for a familiar pair of eyes landing on soft, brown one's.
"relax, you look like you were about to pass out," david joked ruining the wave of relief I felt for a second.
"yeah, yeah, yeah," i laughed to myself while reaching for my my backpack putting my things away to leave the plane. i had finally arrived in sunny California, my brain on vacation mode by itself.
"what's your next move?" david asked me as i was sliding my laptop away.
"probably finding my luggage and getting and uber to my aunts house," i sighed taking my phone out and turning airplane mode off.
"she couldn't pick you up?" david asked making me chuckle to myself. why does he care?
"david, she has a job," i explained reminding him it was a week day.
"i'd pick you up," david blurted out making me furough my eyebrows together and give him a look. huh?
"thank you?" i laughed clowning him making his face redden in embarrassment. i guess he was embarrassed his joke didn't land.
"um, after you," david motioned to the isle when it was our turn to board off of the plane. the issue with this is that im in the window seat so it would make a lot more sense for him to go first, which he did not think through.
"um, your closer," i pointed out to david motioning that he was literally almost in the isle. he fumbled around quickly, trying to get away from the awkward again making me laugh to myself. such a dork, of course, in a charming way. i followed down the isle behind him looking at his profile. he stood tall, with broad shoulders, and looked comfortable. he exuded the kind of energy that seemed warm. like if you were to rest your head on his chest or shoulder, you would be overwelemed with comfort and warmth. like he was just made to hold-
"woah," david laughed when i pumped into his back when i got stuck staring at his back. i ran right into him when the line had stoped to get out of the plane, completely hitting him, bit he stood tall and firm in his place, turning around to laugh and pester me. i didn't feel bad about it, as if it made his day a little better. so i didn't apologize, but just laugh back. and for that one moment, things felt good. everything, for once, wasn't crumbling.
"well david, i wish you well. sorry for ruining your first class experience," i joked making him audibly laugh which instantly made me smile.
"it was the opposite really," he responded with a laugh, but i didn't find it funny. did he mean that? i stood, slightly smiling watching him make himself laugh, then quiet down when he saw i didn't join him.
"well, um, take it easy," i awkwardly waved in the air, then felt so embarrassed that i closed my eyes and turned away from david dobrik immediately walking away towards baggage claim wanting to run away and hide in a fool for how embarrassed I was. why am i like this?

david's pov
"oh man, i wish you both could have been there to see it," natalie laughed from the second row of zane's car. natalie was actually on the same flight as lucia and i, but sat behind my seat. meaning, natalie saw and heard everything that went down between luci and i. all of my dumbass comments. weird over thinking. my lame attempts at flirting. and natalie has no sympathy right now as she was gasping for air laughing at my expense.
"was it that bad?" todd laughed pushing for my answers as i just looked out of the window ignoring them.
"oh lil davey has a crush," zane teased trying to pinch my cheeks as i swatter his hand away.
"a crush and he couldn't get her number, how unfortunate," todd laughed while looking out of his window as we drove off from the airport. natalie and i only had carry luggage and just had to get picked up quickly, but that cut my time with luci short. im not sure why but i can't stop thinking about her. her questions. her weirdness.
"i could've gotten her number," i grumbled and crossed my arms across my chest. looking out of the window as zane switched lanes.
"so why didn't you get her number?" natalie asked.
"why would i do that?" i responded carefully not trying to reveal too much, especially my interest or admitting to flirting, because obviously, i wasn't that good at it.
"david, i sat behind the both of you for that whole flight. you are so bad at flirting and she is way too hot for you. im letting you know as a friend," natalie joked placing her arm on my shoulder as i shrugged it off seeing her mischievous grin.
"no she isn't. i'm the perfect amount of hot for her," i shrugged feeling myself begin to worry. was she not on my level? no way, i wasn't no her level? that had to be true. she did look like a vision. sun kissed, glowing tan skin, beautiful hazel eyes, cascading ripples, curves that lead me down twists and turns of delight. this girl really was a dream and i didn't even realize it until it was too late. right after she had told me to take it easy.
"are you joking?! did you not see her when she went to the bathroom? fucking HOT."
"no..." i mumbled lowly followed by a pause, then filled with laughter again teasing me making me groan. "okay fine, i did check her out. so what?"
"so what? you didn't ask for her number! you will never see her again! do you know how many people there are in la alone, let alone california?" todd pointed out while flicking me on the forehead like a toddler.
"i couldn't ask for her number," i groaned shrugging into my seat away from todd's reach.
"why? cause you're a pussy?" todd teased again.
"yes," zane answered as natalie started laughing loudly and aggressively.
"oh i'm so glad you find this amusing, natalie, because i have a job for you to do," i laughed as i heard natalie groan in protests of me giving her work to do. even though, that's her job.
"what do you want?" she groaned making me smile.
"i need you to find her. look in my instagram followers, she has to be there," i asked hearing zane whistle and start to push me side to side in excitement.
"do you at least know her name?" natalie asked.
"lucia"
