You spent the first month in New York applying to jobs for most of the day and night, you weren't picky about jobs. Anything was going to have to do, for now you just needed to focus on being able to afford rent, the last thing you were going to do was go crawling back to California bouncing around on your friends couches. It was August and the heat was brutal, you didn't want to be out of a place to live in the hottest month of the year.

When you weren't applying to jobs, you were people watching in various places around the city. You had already been to a bunch of parks throughout Queens and Manhattan, just sitting and writing while all types of people walked by you. You decided that today you were going to venture into Brooklyn to find a park. You hadn't yet been to Brooklyn despite the fact it was your neighboring Borough.

You hopped off the train and started wandering around, you stumbled upon a park and planted yourself on the nearest bench. It had a dog park area where you watched people as diverse as their dogs mingling and playing. You observed one man who looked to be in his 60's sitting by a tree on a blanket. You jotted down little notes about him like how he looked up and smiled at every person that walked by him, even if they didn't smile back his smile never left his face. You noted how when a child dropped their toy out of their carriage how he picked it up and got up to go after the mother to give it back, despite the fact he was clearly in pain getting up and moving that fast. You imagined what his life was like prior to his current age. He was probably a solider or in some sort of armed forces considering his manners, you pictured what his wife looked like, and his kids. It made you sad to think that he may be alone now, his possible loneliness resonated quickly with you. You lost your train of thought when a man interrupted you.

"Do you mind if I sit?"

"Not at all, please." You didn't look up at him, just scooted over on the bench to make room, still taking notes of the old man.

You were writing so intently you completely forgot that there was someone next to you.

"Writing anything good?"

You turned to look at him, his question startling you due to how enveloped you were with your writing. You were taken aback by how beautiful he was, he had shoulder length black hair that was slightly wavy, these soft golden brown eyes, and was wearing a t-shirt that hugged his toned arms. He was beautiful.

"Uh..yeah. Well, no not yet, just taking notes right now. The writing that comes after will hopefully be good." You joked.

He smiled at you then continued to look around the park, you didn't even notice that on the other side of him he had a dog on a leash.

"What's your dogs name?"

"Moose!" He became enthusiastic when you brought him up.

"Hi, Moose!" You gestured for him to come near you. The cute brown dog quickly got up and trotted over to you wagging it's tail. He jumped onto your lap with his two front paws getting some dirt all over your journal, you ignored it as not to be rude, though it did kind of annoy you. Moose kept trying to give you kisses, he was a very energetic dog, it was cute.

"I'm sorry about that, I hate when he jumps on people, I'm trying to train him to stop." He motioned for Moose to get down but Moose wouldn't budge from you.

"Wow, he seems to like you a lot."

"I like him too!" You laughed in response.

"So what are you taking notes on?"

"Without sounding too creepy...just random people. I like to people watch and just observe how everyone interacts. Every person is so different socially, so it makes it fun to guess what their life is like. Does that make sense?" You looked down avoiding eye contact, in hopes he didn't think you were absolutely crazy.

He smiled at your answer, "Yes, that does make sense. In fact, see that lady over there?"

He pointed to a woman maybe a few years older than you, she was wearing a navy blue suit with matching heels and talking loudly on the phone.

"My guess is she is a single business woman, probably at a law firm or some sort of marketing corporation. She has no friends because she only knows how to work. Pretends she's too good for dating, but secretly wants to be adored, so she over compensates at work by being super demanding."

You laughed at how accurate his depiction was "Ok, that was really good. I definitely agree."

"I'm Adam, by the way."

"(y/n), nice to meet you, Adam."

"You too. So are you a writer professionally, or just a hobby?"

"Ha, the hope is to be a professional one day. I'm actually in the process of looking for a job. I just moved here a month ago from California so when I'm not applying to jobs, I'm doing exactly this."

"Oh, that's cool. Sounds scary moving somewhere new, do you know anyone here?"

"Nope, just me, and now you and Moose."

"Well, I'm glad Moose and I could be of service." He smiled at you, brushing his hair back with his abnormally large hands.

"What do you do?"

"I'm an actor."

"That's awesome! Do you do theater or film, or both?"

He let out a laugh, "I love theater, I do some occasionally, but I mostly do film."

"I don't mean to come off as rude, but I don't think I recognize you from anything."

"That's not rude at all, it's actually quite refreshing to talk to someone who doesn't know who I am."

His smile became less apparent, even though you didn't know who he was, you could tell he was famous enough that having normal interactions with people was clearly not a common occurrence for him.

"I'm sorry, that must be tough." You tried to steer the conversation away from his career, hoping that he would cheer up a bit.

"Have you ever acted?"

You snorted unintentionally

"Sorry...absolutely not. I mean, in 8th grade I auditioned for my school play. It was Beauty and the Beast, my personal favorite. I was so nervous because I knew that I wasn't a strong singer but I auditioned anyways. I ended up getting stage crew, and even that I'm not positive I deserved, the drama teacher was my Science teacher so I am ninety nine percent positive she just took pity on me." You laughed at the memory, it was an absolutely mortifying experience.

Adam looked at you and had the biggest grin on his face

"I'm going to an audition for a movie this afternoon, come with me."

"What? Like for moral support? I mean if you need it then sure."

"No, I want you to audition for the female lead. You're in New York, why not put yourself out there?"

"Are you ok? I couldn't even get a supporting role in 8th grade, what makes you think I'd get a lead in a movie?"

"It's worth a shot. C'mon it'll be fun, you can audition beside me."

"You're absolutely crazy Adam....?"

"Driver." He replied.

"Well, Mr. Driver, you're on."
