Chapter One

It's 9:02 pm. I should've been in bed right now... Not texting my Internet bestie, Maria. But seriously, what 15 year old sleeps at 9pm? My mom says I need to sleep early though, because more sleep= less pain. Pain is so effing annoying. TFIOS is right, "that's the thing about pain, it demands to be felt". Like please pain stfu you thirsty bish.

Not many things take away my pain, considering its chronic. The 192829829282 meds I take don't help. Physical therapy doesn't help. " Breathing" doesn't help. Something that do help are reading, drinking tea, and being social. Well my version of social at least... I get nervous about everything and most of my irl friends make me extremely nervous. I have to be so cautious as to what I say, and how I say it.

December 2013. The month I met the wonderful Maria.
Maria, as you my have noticed, is my best friend. She's beyond gorgeous and always says the right things.

Oh crap it's 10:00 pm... Well I guess I should go to sleep now.

"Good morning, Merry Christmas Eve" I say to my dad. It's Christmas Eve. My moms not home as usual. Her work really needed her. It's just me, my brother, my sister, my dad, my grandma, and my aunt this year. I miss my mom, she works way too much. Luckily my dad took the day off.

I drink my milk and slowly eat my delicious ginger bread cookie. My dad then surprises me with some condensed milk. That reminds me of Maria, she's the only person I know who loves condensed milk as much as I do. If only she was here with me.

"Ding dong" goes my door. I wonder who could that be. I lazily make my way to the door, shuddering when I look at myself in the mirror. Mh hair is a mess as usual and I'm wearing a yellow onesie. I open the door and scream when I see who it is. My parents rush to the door and ask me if I'm okay. I'm at a loss for words. I walk backwards because my brain can't comprehend what's going on.
"MARIA?!?!?!" I squeal. "LLLLEEEEEXXXX!!!!" She replies. Maria, runs up to me and embraces me into a tight ( almost murderous ) hug.

"What the even heck????? HOW ARE YOU HERE?!?!?! OMG AM I DREAMING?!?! WHAT EVEN?! IM SO HAPPY IM GONNA CRY!!!".
"Well Lex, I couldn't handle not telling my parents about you, so I did. And they contacted your parents somehow. Not to rat you out. Your parents were chill about us being internet friends. So both of our parents decided it's time we finally meet."

I run up to my parents and give them a huge hug, "THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I PROMISE I WILL NEVER HIDE ANYTHING FROM YOU AGAIN! THIS IS THE BEST GIFT EVER OH MY GOD I LOVE YOU!!!".

I lead Maria and her parents to my living room. Our parents talked as we quietly stole a can of condensed milk, took two spoons, and head upstairs.
"Wow nice room" Maria says in awe.
I laugh as I look at my extremely messy and purple room. "Thanks but bruh I didn't even make my bed."
" well I guess we should spam instagram now with many selfies and videos".
