Serene eyes

"Ladadies, as you can see I called you today to announce your designated subjects for our magazine's issue this month which will be the school fest."

We all sighed in chorus. 'Here we go again.'

Kacey, our editor-in-chief glared at us like sighing was our biggest sin. Napairap nalang ako sa kawalan. Siya lang naman ang may gusto dito dahil nakakasalamuha niya lahat ng gwapo sa campus, not that she's not seeing them daily though. Tss.

" Lia, you'll be assigned in the football team." Napapalakpak si Lia dahil nandoon ang crush niya na si Jordi. Medyo di na ko kinakabahan since usually ang naassign sakin ay ang basketball at volleyball team. Gamay ko na sila at marami na rin akong naging kaibigan kaya di na problema sa akin 'to bukod sa magiging sorang busy namin which is hindi na bago sa club.

Nabanggit na ni Kacey halos lahat ng clubs and orgs na dapat i-cover at kami nalang dalawa ni Ayne ang natitirang wala pa. I smirked at her because surely she'll be the one assigned in Sereneyes. Nakakunot noo niya akong binalingan. Naka-pout at mukhang gustong makipagpalit sa akin.

" Gabrye for this year you'll cover Sereneyes. That leaves Ayne to the basketball at volleyball team."

Wait, what?

" What the hell?" I muttered silently but with conviction.

Napalingon ako sa mga kasama at mukha rin silang nagtataka. Dalawang taon na kong assigned sa bball at vball club. Paanong--? I looked at Ayne only to see her smirking towards me. What an actual fvck, she manipulated it.

Just how the hell she did that?

" Wait Kacey, something's wrong here. For two years I was assigned sa sports at si Ayne ang sa banda. Why did you changed only mine and Ayne while the others subjects stayed the same? " She smiled apologetically.

Humalaklak naman si Ayne na para bang nanalo siya sa lotto.

"Aw. Sorry Gab, I saved her sa Philo kasi last time. So clearly she owe me this."

Nag-init ang ulo ko't padabog na umalis ng HQ.

I know I looked spoiled and mannerless. But could you blame me? They're being unfair. I kicked the stone in front of me. Kawawang bato. Okay na rin 'yon at least they know I'm pissed. Alam ko namang kahit anong gawin ko hindi na nila 'yon babaguhin. At least diba?

Pero  sa lahat ng pwedeng i-cover? The hell why Serene eyes? Well, I never met them yet. Even once. Pero ayoko lang talaga. Sabi nga nila ' prevention is better than cure '

I vowed to never associate myself with those playboys. They are actually the worst Org in this University dahil sa pangit ng image nila pero ewan ko ba kung bakit sandamakmak pa rin ang fans ng mga kumag na 'yon.

Naglakad ako sa hallway ng makasalubong ko ang mga freshmen na paimpit na nagtititili. Tsk, kids.

Wala naman na akong klase so better go out and breath.

I called Jaia's number on my phone though she's not picking up so I decided to seat on a vacant space sa waiting shed just outside PUP.

I stared at the sea of students going back and forth from the University. Students here in PUP are so diverse. May mayayaman, meron may kaya, well, mahihirap pero disente. I like the latter more. Nakakapagod makisalamuha sa mayayaman na 'yan no! Daming issue sa buhay. Don't get me wrong. I just feel like acquainting myself in people like me would give me more peace of mind than spending time trying to fit in.

My life isn't like those you can read on novels. My life is pretty normal which my friends calls boring. Nothing extraordinary, nothing worth to tell.
