One early Monday morning at Westside Academy... shouting could already be heard at the Student Council room. "I told you that the Welcoming Ceremony must be held at the Convention Hall!" shouted by a male student. "NO! It's better if its at the Grandstand!! They could see the beauty of this magnificent school before they enter it!" shouted back by a female student. "And then what?! Dry them up under the glare of the sun?!" he countered. And they continued while the rest of the officers simply watched them at their seats in the long table.
The male student was Mark Goldberg, the Council President, and the lovely female was Lydia Hemsworth, the Vice President. These two senior students are not only from opposing parties during their election but were enemies even before that. Competing with each other ever since they were in elementary school. But they weren't enemies from birth to tell you frankly. In fact they were good friends before their senseless feud... the reason why they hated each other's guts now will be known as we continue.
"It's too early.. They're still at it!", the Secretary and classmate Maria Reyes said as she adjusts her glasses. "No kidding! Its been going on since our meeting yesterday... And the freshmen are already coming!" Treasurer Stuart Caylen, a 2nd year, pointed out as he watches the students entering the giant gate from their window. "My honey's right! You two please stop with the fighting and show some loooove!" said The Business Manager Tristan Wilde, also a 2nd year, as he creeps behind Stuart and gives him a surprise bear hug. "Waaah! Tristan! Ya doof! Let go of me!!!" "Ohohohon, I'm not letting you go love~" Tristan laughed. "Kara! Korra! Help!!" Stuart pleaded. The PIOs Kara and Korra Honda are twins from Japan, but there's one small detail about them... they are otakus and what's worst they're fujoshis...
"Oh why would we do that Stuart-kun?" the twins said in unison, "We don't want to ruin your fun with Tristan-san hehehe". Maria couldn't take this any longer and their wasting valuable time. She had no choice but to "YOU GUYS! SHUT UP! WE'RE WASTING VALUABLE TIME HERE AND YOU STILL HAVEN'T DECIDED ON THE FREAKING VENUE SINCE YESTERDAY! YOU TWO BETTER CHOOSE OR ELSE!". "Yes M-Ma'am!" they all said. "Good" Maria smiled at them and turned to Mark, "So Mr Pres! What will it be, the Convention Hall or the Grandstand?" "As I have said to Ms Big Mouth here..." "Hey!" "Hush! It will be at the Convention Hall!" Marked smirked at Lydia who simply Hmmphed! and looked away. "Okay then! Kara, Korra please go to the radio room and give the announcement. We will be meeting the students there at 3 PM. And Mr Pres." Maria told. "Yes Maria?" "Be ready with your welcome speech, the Head Master and teachers will be there". "I got it" Mark replied.
The Convention Hall was big, very big, enough to accomodate all the students and faculty. The fully air-conditioned Hall was ready with help of the Academy's large staff. The Council was busy as well preparing for their responsibilities. A few minutes before 3 PM, the students start to enter the Hall. Some of them were in awe at the sight of the building probably freshmen. Other students like the Juniors and Seniors, and the faculty are also entering. All of them ushered by the student council officers.
Mark, Lydia and Stuart were at the back stage preparing. "Hey Pres, are you ready?" Stuart asked. Mark gulped "A little nervous I guess". "Tch! Always been the chicken Mark?" Lydia snickered. "As if you could do it my sweet Lydia... oh wait, You can't! You're not the Council President" Mark replied then sticks out his tongue. "Ugh!" a frustrated Lydia walked away. "God I don't understand that girl!" Mark said with a stressful sigh. "I'm sorry to pry Mr Pres but.. was Ms VP always like this?" Stuart asked curiously.
"Sigh... I don't even know anymore Stuart... Its as if we were never friends before..." "Oh..?" "Well enough about that" Mark cuts before letting Stuart asking more dreadful questions and smiled "time to welcome the students". "Yes sir!" Stuart signaled Maria who was now at the podium. "Good Afternoon students, and our dear faculty and staff especially to our Head Master Albert Klein" Maria starts "Without further a do, may I call this academic year's Student Council President Mark Goldberg for his welcome address!". Everyone applauded as Mark makes his way to the podium. But Lydia couldn't hold off her revenge for later so she "accidentally" tripped Mark as he made his way. Mark quickly recovered and turned back to Lydia to give her a glare and mouthed "I hate you". She merely replied "I hate you too" before laughing hard.
As Mark was giving his speech, Maria told Lydia "Girl! What's got into you back there?" "What? It was an accident" Lydia grinned. "Really? An accident?" Lydia just laughed "I don't know what past you had with him but can you please hold your fight for later? Or its gonna ruin the program." "Fine..." Lydia said as she seats properly and tries to ignore the being up the stage.
"...again thank you and I hope you enjoy this magnificent institution that is Westside Academy." with that comes the introduction of the faculty and the different clubs. Mark goes back stage and shouted, "Where the hell is Lydia?!! I swear if I ever found that girl I'll, I'll ugh!!". "Just calm down Prez" Tristan said " That girl is just sexually frustrated". Stuart slapped his shoulder and scolded "Tristan that's not a nice joke". "Hehe, at least the program's done but we still got work to do" Mark announced "Tell the others to help clean up then go back to the council room for debriefing and planning activities for this year".
They were back at the Council room after an hour, and things got a little complicated... Maria arrived last and what she saw was devastating. "What in the world?" "Oh! Maria, glad you finally came!" Stuart exclaimed. "Everything was fine when we arrived until Prez and VP made eye contact and tackled each other!" Tristan and others nodded in agreement. "Damn these kids!" Maria appears to be the only council member who was able to control the two fighting beasts.
"Mark! Lydia! STOP IT THIS INSTANT!" And that they stopped and great fear descended upon them. They both gulped as their hands we're still strangling each other. Lydia lets go first making Mark fall back his head hitting the chair. Lydia said"He started it!" pointing at Mark. "Are you stupid or something?! You tripped me on stage! On purpose!" Mark interjected.
"Enough you two!" Maria shouted once more, "You idiots better clean your selves up! The Head Master is coming here to tell us something!". Mark and Lydia both cursed and hurried themselves up and dusted the dirt. Everyone quickly cleaned the room which was ruined by their fight. Just in time when the Head Master arrived. The twins opened the door for the Head Master. He made his way near the whiteboard and said "Congratulations students! HAHA! It was a good Welcoming Ceremony!" "Well thank you sir" Mark said, "It wouldn't have pulled through if it weren't for our teamwork" stressing the last word with a hint of sarcasm, Lydia just rolled her eyes. "Oh yes indeed" the old man said. "I am expecting great things from this year's council! Great things!". He took his leave after giving each of them a hand shake for a job well done.
"Alright guys, we had a good start for this school year so we have to plan for the activities." Mark announced. But when they were giving suggestions... another war sparked between the President and his Vice... Maria just face palmed for the nth time while Tristan was back to harassing Stuart as the twins are enjoying every bit of it. "Shouting again? Hmm.. it appears that they are having their usual disagreements again." The Head Master sighed "I won't be surprised if those two would end up together" the old man chuckled as he closes his office.
