Now Or Never (Ticci Toby X Eyeless Jack)

Chapter XIII: Suspicions

Clockwork had taken notice to Jack now being nice to Toby, also noticing that Toby had started to space out. "You good there, Toby?" She asked and held back a soft chuckle, Toby blinked a few times before he looked back at Clockwork and smiled, "Y-eah!" his gaze darted towards the kitchen counter. "Th-ere's just s-omething I'm not s-sure about." He admitted and felt flush cover his face, putting a hand over his face to try and hide it. "Well, what is it?"

Clockwork was interrupted by a different voice, Ben's, "Do you know where Jack went?" the small boy seemed to ignore the flustered Toby and was more focused on finding Jack and getting revenge. Clockwork put a hand to her chin as if she was thinking, "He went outside in the back." upon hearing that Ben thanked Clockwork and was on his way outside to find the cannibal.

Jack stayed in the tree waiting for a few more minutes until he started to fall impatient, just as he decided to come down and call it quits he heard the back door open, his smirk reappearing as he hugged the branch. "Right on time, ya little shit." He whispered to himself before Ben was in his view and range, he then pounced down on the boy with a chuckle. "Remember when I said you were going to pay?" Ben squirmed and shuffled with something in his hand and attempted to swing it at Jack, "Don't think I wouldn't come without a weapon." he smirked as he dug the dagger into Jack's shoulder. Black ooze started to deep out of the wound and Ben's face turned from smug to confused, "What the fuck!?" Jack snarled as he grasped the dagger and yanked it out of his shoulder.

"Well, what is it?" Clockwork repeated, looking at Toby as she saw his face flush an even brighter pink and he mumbled something. "You're going to have to speak up Toby." She gently planted a hand on his shoulder for comfort, "I-it's Ja-ck.." he forced himself to say and felt his face become cherry red. Clockwork just smiled at Toby and started to giggle a little, she knew exactly what was happening and she thought it was pretty damn funny. "Do you like Jack?" She asked bluntly and watched as Toby dug his face into his hands as his face flushed even deeper, if that was even possible, "I-I don't kn-ow.." he responded as he lifted his head and looked at Clockwork worryingly. Clockwork planted a hand on each of Toby's shoulders and gave him a small smile as she spoke to make him feel better, "Well, how does he make you feel? All warm and fuzzy inside?" Toby nodded slowly, his face still flushed slightly.

Meanwhile, Jack took out his scalpel, still smirking as he spoke, "I wouldn't come unarmed either." he kept the boy pinned as he lifted the scalpel and was interrupted by someone. "Get off of him, Jack. He's not worth it." Masky said as he looked disapprovingly at the two from under his mask, Jack was reluctant at first but got off of Ben, but not before warning him that he would get revenge. "Jack, can I have a word with you?" Masky noticed Ben still standing next to Jack and narrowed his eyes from under his mask, as if seeing his glare Ben left with a fearful look in his eyes. "Of course, what is it?"

Jack and Masky stood aside from the clearing, behind a few trees Masky got straight to the point. Not wasting another second. "I don't mean to intrude on your privacy but, are you seeing anyone?" The masked man leaned his back against one of the tree trunks as Jack's gaze widened for a few seconds and he was quick to answer, "No, I'm not." he said in a stern tone and held back blush that would've crept itself on his cheeks. Masky raised a brow under his mask, unamused, narrowing his eyes at Jack before he left, saying a simple. "Alright." As Masky left and was out of earshot Jack leaned against the trunk of a tree and let out a sigh, his face flushing a deep red, Am I really in love? he thought silently and planted a hand over his face.

Meanwhile Clockwork and Toby were still in the kitchen, "Try sleeping on it, okay?" she suggested with a big smile. She knew something like this can be new and scary but didn't want that for either Toby or Jack.
