ring

Sitting on my couch in my sweatpants and sweatshirt, I tried to take a deep breath, let my emotions flow out and fill the blank paper in front of me. 

I need this, I know I need this. Please, please.

I sigh, closing the notebook. I rub my eyes and stand up, my knees cracking. I turn down the hallway in my hotel room to my bedroom and enter, quickly changing into a presentable outfit. A fancy but not too fancy off white sweater, and jeans. I dab some make-up on, feeling my heart speed up at the thought of the planned days events ahead of me. My next few months, in reality are already planned. 

About fifteen minutes later I'm walking into the tiny kitchenette getting cheese and crackers out and filling a plate. I filled a pitcher with water and ice, two cups, and set everything out on the table. I slowly walked to the bathroom, and checked to make sure my face was still intact. 

I know I'm trying my best. I know that. But sometimes I don't feel like it's enough. I feel like there's always more to give. So, I give everything I have to my job, if you could call it that. 

I'm a singer. I finally got signed on a record company two years ago, and my debut song was released a little less than a year ago. From what I've heard, people have liked it. My Spotify streams are wild. Not billions yet, but soon. My second song got even more recognition than the first. My hearts warms up and my lips turn into a smile just thinking about it. Now, I have an album on the way, and then my very first tour afterward. People have already bought tickets to see me! 

Anyway, today I have a visitor that could really lift my career to a higher place than it already is at. I check my phone, to make sure that it't not time for him to arrive yet. It isn't, he still has five minutes. 

But the doorbell to my hotel room still rings.
