I was upstairs in my bedroom doing homework. It was 8:00 in the morning. I've never been an early riser, but when I awake earlier, I get more things done. My phone buzzed, though I swear I put it on do not disturb mode. It was a text from Watson.
Hey Hensley, clear your plans for today! I'm taking you out.
Mysterious. Lucky you, I'm free.
Perfect. I'll pick you up at 2.
Where are we going?
Crazy.
You sound like my dad! Haha
Compliment or not, I'll take it. See you soon.

I had no idea what to wear to this unknown event. Fancy, casual?
I decided it best to wear jean shorts and an off the shoulder red t-shirt. I put on my usual shoes, my converse, and slung my black purse over my shoulder. Watson didn't seem like a fancy guy, so hopefully this overall casual outfit would be acceptable.
I was sitting on the porch waiting for Watson to arrive. My parents were out of town visiting family friends; Dakota was at his friends house. Suddenly a mustang pulled into my driveway, Watson being the driver. He rolled down his window and grinned.
"Nice ride." I walked over to the car and got into the passenger seat. I didn't know that Watson had money. I mean, I didn't care anymore than I would if he didn't have any; I wasn't expecting it. Watson's attire didn't show it. He didn't wear expensive name branded items. Only casual white t-shirts and shorts.
"Want to listen to some music?" He asked.
"Sure."
"You pick!" Watson placed his hand on the back of my seat while he was backing out of the driveway. This motion made me shiver.
"You cold?" Watson asked with a confused expression. It was almost 30 degrees celsius outside today.
"Uh, no." I awkwardly chuckled and started turning the dial to pick a radio station.
I picked an old rock station, and "Born To Be Wild," started playing.
"When can I know where were going?"
Watson reached over and turned up the volume as he said, "I love this song," totally ignoring my question. On a normal occasion I would consider this rude, but with Watson, I considered it flirtatious.
I smiled and looked out the window, watching the buildings disappear beside me. After about a twenty minute drive, we reached our destination. I saw a big sign that said "Randy's Fair & Carnival Fun."
"You brought us to a carnival!" I chirped.
"Do you like carnivals?"
"I love them! I haven't been to one in so long." The last time I've been to a carnival was with my grandma and Dakota when I was 10.
"What shall we do first? I ordered tickets online already by the way."
"Wow, you're prepared." I giggled.
"One must always be prepared, especially if the preparations are for a girl he fancies." Most times, obvious flirting made me cringe. But this time, I felt charmed.
"Let's go on a roller coaster?" I felt myself bite my lip, a habit that can't be stopped.
"Very brave. Most girls I've met hate roller coasters."
"Well, I'm not sure what type of girls you've met, but I love them."
"Let's go." Watson placed his arm around my back guiding me deeper into the carnival.
