Personality: AJ is a...unique one to say the least. The girl has a lot of strength. Both inner strength and physical. She's mentally tough, and physically tough as well. She's got the kind of build, that, you would think she can't do much. But she is capable.
AJ is the kind of girl who you piss off, run. Run away and never return. She's dangerous, and she knows it. However, this does not mean those who instantly run into her are doomed. In fact. It means she can and will survive. Damaged people like her are dangerous. The can make hell feel like home.
AJ has a lot of pent up hatred, anger, spite, dissatisfaction, repulsion and suspicion running through her. She uses this as a motivator, as drive to keep pushing. Even if it means someone is screwed. She has the intelligence to see things that others don't, which will make her either very useful in the Hunger Games, or hella dangerous.
That's her issue. She's so shut off from everyone. People who try to get close to her? It could be dangerous. She has a complicated life leading up to where she is currently. She's trying to change. But this is the Hunger Games. You can't trust anyone. Knowing what she needs to do is different than what she wants to sometimes.
AJ has the mindset that to be happy, she needs to hear her parents tell her just how proud of her they are. The ones who think they know her? They are ones that don't know her at all. She is actually loyal and has a good heart. Promise.
Backstory: Selena and Jaylin Heath had never meant to be married. Nor have a child for that matter. Unfortunately, fate had other plans. AJ was evident around 3 months in, and the two had to marry. For both sets of parents didn't approve of children out of wedlock. It was a loveless marriage, yes, but they agreed they wanted a boy. So they could fight and win in the Hunger Games one day. Hence the name AJ. Imagine the disappointment to see a brunette, blue eyed baby. The discontent on her father's face, repulsion on her mother's. AJ was born underweight, and many odds were against her. But still she grew, and became more beautiful as time passed. This wasn't enough though. Then. The hunger games. Instead of waiting to be reaped, she volunteered. She knew she was likely to die indeed, but also knew she was willing to try to gain the approval she had always seeked.
