"hey can we have lunch together?" hyunjin suggested as he waited patiently for the other boy who was putting his books into his backpack.

"fine but i have to meet someone first, is that okay?"

seungmin is always so friendly and open to make new friends, and this particular new student who lowkey had been getting on his nerves for the past two days they've been sitting together is not an exception.

"aye aye captain,"

walking side by side, they made their way out of the classroom and stopped in front of the cafeteria.

"go and get a table for us first, i'll wait for her here,"

"her?"

'does this dude has a girlfriend that i don't know of or?' hyunjin thought.

seungmin tilted his head a little, expecting hyunjin to take the hint.

"oh! your friend," he scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, embarrassed with his own forgetfulness, "okay then i'll go first."

hyunjin immediately looked for any unoccupied table inside the school cafeteria that was packed with students having lunch and talking to each other. as he found a table with seats for two, he sat on it and turned his head to take a look at seungmin who was now talking to a girl outside the cafeteria.

a few minutes later, seungmin finally entered the cafeteria and walked towards hyunjin while the other struggled to make it seems like he wasn't focusing on seungmin and the girl earlier.

"just saying i wasn't staring at you two earlier,"

"yeah i know, why would you?" seungmin chuckled as he took off his blazer and placed it on the seat in front of hyunjin, "let's go get some food."

the two boys went to get their foods from the food counters and then brought a tray each to their table.

"do you like pineapples on pizza?"

"hyunjin, we are not even having pizza right now,"

the said boy giggled, "i know, i'm just curious."

"i should've expect all these the moment you asked me what would i do if i were a fish," seungmin smiled while enjoying his food, "i still can't believe that was the first thing you said to me when the teacher assigned us to sit next to each other yesterday."

the other boy could only giggle louder, "so do you like it or not?"

"you're so weird, you know," seungmin sent a confused glare as he digged his fork into a potato, "i like it."

a kind of heavy silence fell upon the two boys as hyunjin stared at seungmin in confusion while the other boy just chewed on his sweet potato, taking a whole five seconds to process what he just said.

"WHAT NO I MEAN," seungmin choked on his food, "i like p-pineapple on pizza, n-not you."

contrary to his dramatic behaviour, hyunjin calmly passed a glass of water and leaned over across the table to pat seungmin's back.

"aw you're so cute," hyunjin moved his hand to the boy's hair, patting it softly before realising what he did and sit back, "oh i'm sorry."

"damn i almost died right then and there," seungmin put down the water and took a deep breath, "and it's okay i'm fine with skinship."

"congratulations you didn't die,"

"shut up,"

"so you do like pineapples on pizza?"

"uh-huh,"

"well me too so yayyyy this is great start for our growing friendship," hyunjin cheered while clapping his hands.

seungmin just looked at the boy in front of him adoringly, 'maybe he's not as bad as i thought.'

"but one sad thing..." the boy stopped clapping, placing one of his elbow on the table before resting his cheeks on his palm.

"why?"

"you don't like me being weird," he fake-sulked.

"that's not what i mean-"

hyunjin suddenly laughed, catching the sorry seungmin off guard, "just kidding. i know you can't resist me."

"wow you're so confident, we barely even know each other,"

"and that's why we need to know each other more," hyunjin raised his eyebrow, earning a chuckle from seungmin.

"i'm fine with that," seungmin paused before showing a fake disgusted expression when hyunjin didn't stop raising his eyebrow in a weird way, "but no homo bro."

hyunjin once again bursted out a loud laughter, almost getting all the attention in the cafeteria.

"no homo bro?" he tried to breathe steadily, "it's 2020, do people still say that?"

"i don't know okay, it just came into my mind out of nowhere," seungmin joined the boy laughing, "blame yourself for making that disgusting face earlier."

"it's not THAT disgusting,"

the bell has rang, indicating the end of lunch break.

"i'll buy you a mirror later," seungmin wiped the tear that left his eye due to laughing too much, "now let's put the trays and go back to class."
