The Scarlet Wisp
The liveliness of the human race plummeted to an all-time low; the rich and poor alike could not escape its formidable grip. The radiation that spread like a plague all over the world was strangely unusual and scientists soon discovered that it was to blame for the current state of the world. The effects of the radiation on some were inconsequential in comparison to the insanity that ravaged the minds of those who weren't so lucky. The radiation-like energy generated an increase in atmospheric pressure, hinting the scientists towards the sky. Humans became deprived of the very freedom they once enjoyed, the joys of the world were no more; only a world full of fear and delirium that was perpetually smoldering with chaos. Soon protests erupted across the world, demanding that the government put an end to this nightmare. In the following weeks, everyone was affected by savagery, protesters fought amongst each other, families committed arson with the sole intent to kill as many people as they could before ending their own lives upon realizing what they had done. Mental health counselors were overburdened, often succumbing to the great evil themselves by torturing their patients in unimaginable ways. Murder rates were on the rise and happened anywhere, at any time; and those crimes that happened within families often made the Mafia, who were not shy to send a message through their gory methods of violence, look like child's play. The world was quick to point a finger at The Soviets, believing that they had somehow created a weapon responsible for emitting this strange radiation; some even suspected that the Germans had succeeded in colonizing the moon and were plotting their revenge against the world. Despite these outlandish accusations, there was very little evidence of foul play as they were as equally affected by this pandemic; still, this was enough for government to act. The Department of Defense would go on to recall some of their finest prior servicemen and scientists to further investigate this phenomenon; but first, numerous files containing the names of many World War II OSS veterans from separate branches, scientists, and doctors would be dusted off by the recruitment clerks, and those files containing those who were no longer amongst the living were stamped with an oversized blood-red stamp that said "DECEASED". Finally, the recruitment letters would be delivered via courier to ensure confidentiality, and many of the recalled members were given the choice to join or remain free, but denying these orders would be impractical, as everyone wanted to put an end to this.

The crimson stain was enough to resurrect the rage and anguish from within, but it was the only way he knew to mourn his lost brother. Weston's mind flowed like a vicious venom as he would painfully envision every moment spent in Peenemunde. The hijack, the machine, his brother, Weston could not untangle himself this traumatic thread. September 3rd, 1942
The starry night reflected brightly on the Baltic Sea, the late-night waves were enough to drown the sound Weston's men made as they quickly killed the guard by the flight line. They began to equip the stolen Nazi flight suits found in a nearby hangar, though not exactly tailored to Ryan, he would surely be the first to get caught in this mission. The men understood the possibility, but given the circumstances, they did not think much of it for they were foolishly confident by hi, after all, they had escaped worse or so they thought.
