part one
inhalers and parties

Mae walked through the woods with her older brother, the man had recently found an inhaler, making him suspicious of trespassers on his property. The pair found two teenage boys, one looking through the leaves and one just watching him.

The boy with the buzz cut suddenly jumped in fright when he noticed the the two siblings staring at them, one looking intimidating and one looking bored.

"What are you doing here?" Derek asked, walking up to the pair with Mae trailing behind slightly. They had decided not to split up in the woods since their older sister had passed. "Huh? This is private property."

"Uh, sorry, man, we didn't know." The taller boy told them.

"Yeah, we were just looking for something, but..." the other boy continued, pausing when Derek narrowed his eyes at him, "uh, forget it."

Mae rolled her eyes, pulling the blue inhaler from her pocket and waving it in front of the boy, "this what you were looking for?" She asked, tossing it to him when he nodded his head before getting pulled in the opposite direction by her older brother.

"You didn't have to be so intimidating." Mae told the man, shoving her hands back into her pockets. Derek just rolled his eyes at his sister, bringing his hand up to send a light hit to the back of her head.

"You didn't smell it?" The man asked, as though his reason for being creepy was obvious.

Mae sighed, "smell what?" She lied, of course she smelt it, it was obvious that the boy was a werewolf, whether he knew it or not.

Derek just rolled his eyes again as they finally arrived at their burnt down family home, the home that the pair were currently staying in.

"Hey, do you reckon he's a-were that he's a wolf?" Mae asked jokingly, nudging her brothers side as her lips turned up into a grin until her brother just sent another smack to her head.

Derek had sent his sister to her death.

Maybe Mae was exaggerating, but standing in a crowd of sweaty sixteen year olds whilst her brother watched from the gate to the garden was definitely not her idea of fun. She was friendly, and definitely open to the idea of making friends, she just didn't want to do it a party where she wouldn't know anyone.

He had sent his younger sister into the party because it would be easier for her to blend in and keep an eye on Scott due to the fact that she was the same age as the kids attending said party.

She growled at a dog that had growled at her first, causing it to cower back in fear slightly, a confident smirk adorned Mae's face though she had gotten a few odd looks from the party goers.

After walking through the party she had finally found Scott, who was dancing with a girl she assumed was his girlfriend. Mae groaned slightly, this would make it difficult to get him out of party so she just decided to watch from afar.

When she saw Scott struggling slightly her eyes widened, Mae pushed off of the wall she was leaning on, discarding her punch, she tried desperately to push past the sea of sweaty, dancing bodies.

Mae ended up pushing post of the people out of her way after getting frustrated with her lack of personal space, she made her way to the boy, who was grunting in pain and, most likely, confusion.

She grabbed onto his arm when she reached him, "hey, lets go, Scott." She told the boy, wrapping her hand around his bicep as she pulled him towards her slightly, ignoring the look of confusion that adorned Allison's face as she watched her date be dragged away by some random girl. Mae placed Scott's arm over her shoulders before pulling him away from the party and out of the house, passing his tall friend with the buzz cut and sending a nod of reassurance his way.
