"Welcome to our utopia known as Technosis! Here we all use our gene splicing to help give us advantages for our jobs and business'! We also have those modified in all areas of entertainment!" Said the strange man before me. Why would I want to change my genes? My friends have done it, making their lives easier for them. That changes their identity though, you can't change who you are and not have it be positive. We try to play god at all and we only create more problems. That was a common scenario from all the films and such from the late twentieth and twenty-first centuries. You play god and everyone in the production of it died. I don't understand why we decided to continue these movements of overriding nature.

"Thank you sir, I'm here to start my own life. On my own. Thank you for the information but I should be going now." He seemed friendly and willing to help but he scares me. He had that look on him like he had some kind of narcotic or stimulant going on. Ever since our seventieth president lost the war on drugs everything has gone south. Some people will try to get themselves spliced to have a higher or lower resistance to the drugs they take.

"Your loss then! Enjoy the views around us! It's all so beautiful and well lit!" He definitely is on some kind of narcotic or inducer. There is nothing bright here. Everything here is of a dark ominous coloring; the gray scale is visible in every shade. The lights have a faded yellow to them, normally seen on pages of older books. It's been a while since I last read a book. A wonderful hard cover book, the smell was intoxicating. The smell of the paper, the smooth glossy, plastic cover! Oh, I miss the smells. The smells around here though are atrocious, the musk and garbage are assaulting my nose with every breathe. Everything around here is so dark and dull, like the old noir movies in the early nineteen fifties. I've had a few splices to help with my memory. The splicing definitely helped while I was in school, but that feels so long ago. It's been four years since I graduated. I've had to float from town to town and city to city to find the right place to be happy at. Everywhere I've been has been too loud, too bright, or just too cramped. My claustrophobia doesn't help much, I could get some splicing done to possibly null that, but that still changes me. It's a part of who I am. Everyone's flaws are part of what makes them individuals.

"I will try to. Now go away please sir." I said. I don't want to deal with any strangers yet.

"Fine kid, I'm going to get some Frazz!" He said. Frazz? What is that?

I'm going to find the closest hotel I can and see if I can get a room for a few nights while I find a job and somewhere I can hide at. I don't need someone to find me here as well. Maybe I can keep it light and be ready to move then as well and hope no one can find me? They always will, they always do. I can't try to hide forever. I can hide for a long while but I won't let them catch me. Never again. I will never go back to that family. They are hypocrites to every extent.

"Hello! Welcome to the New Star Inn! We have a few bedrooms as of right now and they're for a low price of two ninety-nine a night! We can help spot you for a couple nights if you're drowning in splice debt! So please spend a few nights here! We have fresh bedding and also have plenty of food for the hungry! Just ask and someone will be there within a moment!" Said the inn keeper. This is supposed to be an inn? And charging for this little? There has to be some other connection to this place aside from just that. What's the problem here?

"Sir what is the problem with this inn? Is there something wrong with the rooms? Most people don't rent it out for that cheap." I said.

"Why my dear we have nothing wrong with our inn! It is in pristine shape and seeing as our government has made it where anyone can live with a minimum income! We try tomake it as easy for those drowned in debt as possible!" he responded. This cannot be a good place to be if this place is designed to be for the extreme minimum wage.
