Had the bird known,

Before it took flight.
The vanity of the Earth,
It will leave forever behind.

And what did the bird know,
Before it took flight.
Nothing but the shadows,
Illuminated by fake lights.

But the bird had never known,
Before it took flight.
Of the azure world up there,
The serenity in the air.
The cool sharpness of the wind,
As cut by its wings.
The triviality of the things,

That appeared so small now
