Martin High School Student Bullying Form

Martin High School maintains a firm policy prohibiting all forms of bullying. Everyone is to be treated with respect and dignity. Bullying by any student, teacher, administrator or other school personnel which creates an intimidating environment will not be tolerated under any circumstances. In the space below, please type your name, what grade you are in, and a description of what happened to the best of your ability. Include information on the bully, victim, and any witnesses/bystanders; the more detail you provide, the better.

- My name is Scott Hoying, I’m a senior, and let me start this out by saying that this is insanely long and complicated, but it’s honestly and completely 100% true. You can ask anyone. Except the guys on the volleyball team, obviously, since they’re kind of the reason I’m writing this in the first place. They’d tell you something different.

- These past three and a half months have been absolutely nuts, the best and worst period of my life at the same time. To be honest, this all could have been over a lot sooner if I would have just told someone about it initially, but I tried to keep quiet about it mostly because I thought I could handle it. I know those guys pretty well, so I thought they’d try to ruffle my feathers for a little while, and if I just ignored them, they’d give up and find someone better to mess with. But now they’re starting to mess with some of the other choir kids, too, and that’s not cool. So I went to Mr. Bellamy before school today to tell him what’s been happening, and he said it would be good if I wrote it all down to show the school as evidence and stuff. So hopefully if you’re reading this, you have some power to handle what’s been going on.

- This really matters a lot to me, and I hate seeing my friends getting bothered by those assholes on the team for no reason. Can I swear in this? Sorry. Let’s just say they’ve been complete jerks to all the choir kids who didn’t do anything to them. I honestly can’t believe I ever used to call them my friends.

- In a way, it’s kind of my fault since I was the one who joined the choir and tried out for Spamalot in the first place. I was the target of all the jokes and rumors mainly because my part in the musical wasn’t exactly the most masculine, and eventually, and I'm not sure if I should say this, some of the stuff that happens to my character in the show sort of became a reality in my life. I don’t regret it at all, though. I met some awesome people and found out what I really want to do after high school. That was the good part about all this. The bad part was what happened because of it.

- I didn’t mean for anyone to get mad or get hurt. I was just really starting to get annoyed by the stuff my friends (at the time) were doing. But in a way, I kind of betrayed them. I think that’s mainly why they’re mad, but there’s other stuff, too.

- Sorry, I’m rambling. But this isn’t really for me, it’s for my friends in choir. I really care about them and their safety. Please don’t brush this aside, because this is serious.

- I guess I should start from the beginning.
