“Fuck.” You mumble to yourself. You had just spilled all of your stuff all over the hall floor. You had just about 30 seconds to get to your 7th period English class on the other side of the school, and now all of your stuff was on the ground.
“Hey... man you need some help?” You heard from above you. You looked up to see a tall blonde boy with shades on.
“Oh um….. No I’m fine, but thanks.” You said, picking your stuff in a hurry. You nodded to him and quickly ran to your class. You stepped into the room just as the bell rang, sitting in your seat in the back corner with your friends.
“Hey John!” Mckayla nodded to you as she opened her laptop.
“Hey!” You said, panting. You didn’t like running. And running didn’t like you. Alyssa just sat there and stared at you. Like she always did. You were often creeped out about it, but whatever.
“Alex isn’t here today?” You asked. Alyssa nodded, and then looked at the teacher. She was talking about something stupid that had to do with the book you were reading in class. ‘To kill a Mockingbird’. You don’t really like the book, and you’re really far behind on the reading. Whenever they have talks about it in class, you’re really confused. You think their at chapter 15 or something and your only at chapter 4. You’re normally a fast reader, but only when you like the book. You don’t know why you’re so picky with books, you just are.
As the teacher went on, asking students who frequently raised their hands questions, you thought about what had happened earlier before you got to class. Who was that kid? You thought.
As you drifted away in thought, you noticed Mckayla looking at you funny. You sat up from leaning in your chair, and noticed that everyone in the class, including the teacher, was looking at you. The teacher raised one eye brow, then repeated what she had said, “I said, what do you think Harper Lee means by ‘A simple Love Story’?”
“Um… Maybe she was implying that Scout and Dill were going to fall in love in the end?” You say, not sure if there was anything else to say.
“Good. That is the kind of thinking I like to see.” She said, and then continued talking. You don’t really pay attention, due to your lack of reading. You just skim the book when you have to turn assignments in.
You slouched back down and continued to think about what had happened until the bell rang. Finally I get to go home. Thank fucking god. You thought to yourself. You liked school, but today had been a pretty bad day. Your bus had come in late due to the snow, you slipped and fell into a puddle of mush (You know, that snow that’s all like… watery and mushing? Mush? Or slush?), you had no lunch money so you couldn’t eat, and then all of your stuff fell all over the ground and you were almost late to class.
You walked out of the class room and went up the stairs to your locker. By this time the halls were super crowded, so you had to squeeze your way through the hall. It took you almost 2 minutes to get to the other side of the hall, but as soon as you got to your locker, you were bombarded by your friends.
“John! John!” Sarah yelled, pouncing onto your back.
You sighed, turning around to talk to her, “What is it this time, Sarah?”
“Do youuuuuuuuuuu want to come to the movies with me and Dani, and Melody and Eridan?” she said, bouncing up and down, “We’re going to see the Avengers!!”
Oh god. The Avengers again, Sarah? That’s the 7th time you’ve seen the movie. You thought. “Ya sure, why not. But I don’t have a date.” You said, though you thought of the boy from before. No John. No homo. No homo. No homo.
