Chapter 3 - Waiting

I got up early so i could get ready for going on land. I was so exited i carried on swimming so high i hit the roof!

I wonder i could see any demigods while i was on land!!

I always wanted to meet my brother Percy, who i have only seen briefly ounce before when i was swimming to safety when the war started. Luckily he stopped the Titan lord, and became famous in the process.

I swam around my bedroom for a while, but got board and decided to swim outside for a while.

It was empty...which was to be expected seen as though it was SO early!

I guard bowed as i passed and i smiled at him.

I loved this place.

I know you're probably wondering why i am leaving if i love it so much.

well, its hard to explain...

It's like I'm split in two...

There's the mermaid side of me... and the land loving side...

It's not a nice mix and it always stresses me out; i can never decide on what i want!

I keep on thinking that i would be more happy on land. But i know that even if i did like it, it wouldn't matter... my dad will just turn me back.

I sighed.

Two hours later.

My dad smiled at me as he finished the spell.

"When you step on land your legs will appear... should you need to come back just step into the water and you will change again." His eyes weir hopeful. I knew he wanted me to stay.

"What if i need to temporeraly change... can i only change ounce?"

"No, you can change on demand. If you get into trouble then just send a prayer to me. I cannot directly interfere, but i can help." He smiled.

I had ine more question to ask... i carried on getting stuck in my throat so asked another one. "Are you angry with me?"

Shock crossed his face "No! of cause not. I understand Nerissa, the land is part of you."

That made me feel a little better.

"A guard will escort you to the shore." His expression was strange... like it was more than just simply going on land... like he knew something was going to happen. I composed himself quickly and turned to look at me. "Are you ready?"

I nodded.
