Chapter 1
Br-erringgg (bell ring)
Monday morning time to encounter people You may or may not wanna see. I wouldn't call myself popular as some may say , but I happen to know a great portion of the school . I'm Alicia , people see me as "that girl"! The one that will have someome instantly laughing. I'm in mrs. Hazels class , along with someone I wouldn't say has an appealing personality , but in a way is a very charming person.
Gena Ford , I've known her all throughout elementary school , but I've never talked to her. Oddly when she sees me she greets me as if we've been talking forever ... "Alicia I'm so glad to see you". In my head I'm contemplating on whether I wanna just smile & sit or go along with her fake greeting & eery smile . My first instinct tells me to go along . "Hey Gena, how are you ?" . "Great" she says & sits down . Our teacher , mrs. Hazels greets the class collectively , but will give us all more personal welcomes at a later time . She says there is one more student who wont arrive until Friday. His name is Kaleb Lakes.
I could hear Gena whisper under her breath "My bae will be in my class".
I just want to shrivel up & die , Kaleb and Gena was known as the cutest couple in junior high , & God did I have "the" biggest crush on kaleb . I was hoping that I would be able to get closer to him at least on a better friendship level , but as long as Gena's there I might as well kiss my hopes goodbye . Meanwhile, our teacher was stating all the rules and regulations of her classroom and was passing out every necessary form needing to be signed . And for some reason period one was only 45 minutes , so the time went by quickly . Br-eringgggg , the bell rung throughout the halls for period 2 , and since Gena seemed like she really wanted to get to know me , I looked at her and waved With a smile , and she looked back and flicked her deep black hair, rolled her eyes and just laughed.
Maybe I was wrong , not everyone may see me as "that girl" , and maybe that fake greeting from the morning was a sign , meaning your just someone I know . Hopefully moving forward my perception of what she thinks about me changes . It would only help me get closer to Kaleb.
