Sorry about the wait-- a lot of crazy stuff is going on and a lot has been happening with my family so I had to take some time. I'm getting back into it though and hope more people come and read about Isaac and Lucas!

Isaac followed Lucas, arms crossed over his chest and nervous feet stumbling over one another every few seconds as his eyes stayed on them. He didn't look up until he heard a man greeting Lucas.

"Sir, welcome back. I have some reports on your desk and a few men are out handling a few of those," his eyes flickered to Isaac before going back to Lucas, "issues you texted about."

Isaac's heart sped up against his chest and worry seeped into every pore. Issues? Is he talking about Cole? What kind of issues? Is he... is he going to kill him anyway?

Lucas looked down at the boy, face emotionless as he watched Isaac's inner battle. He dismissed Alex, the man in front of him, before placing a hand on Isaac's back and pushing him forward. "Come on."

Isaac swallowed hard and nodded, walking side-by-side with Lucas only because the man's hand was still on his back.

"That man... what he said... is Cole—,"

"It didn't have to do with him. Not in the way you're thinking, anyway. I'm a man of my word, Isaac; this you will come to know."

They continued to walk until coming up to a pair of large French doors. "How about we get you up to your room so you can nap. I'm sure you're very tired and need some time to come to reality."

Isaac mumbled an agreement, eyes taking in every person they passed and wondering who exactly the man next to him was. Powerful, obviously, in stature but also money.

Everyone nodded or vocally said their hello's when Lucas passed, shooting a curious gaze to the shaking and wide-eyed boy next to their boss. They weren't used to seeing anyone that close to the man they'd come to know and fear.

The grand entrance opened up to an open concept, easily leaving the living room, kitchen, and hallways seeable, along with the grand staircase that lead up to two other floors. The inside was bland, looking stoic and without a single chair or carpet out of place. Isaac wondered why someone would spend so much money on such a nice place if they weren't going to make it live up to it's potential.

Black drapes hung to the sides of each large windows that started at the floor and went up to almost the first floor's end. They were pulled back so Isaac could easily see the stars in the night sky along with the moon which was only a sliver of light.

Under his feet was a gray rug that folded out until the living room, where light hard-wood flooring laid. There were a few couches and some chairs, two different coffee tables and a large, what appeared to be, almost one-hundred-inch tv above the electric fireplace, which was turned on and emitting warmth that Isaac was thankful for.

"Miranda, could you bring our friend Isaac up to his room? I'll be up there momentarily to make sure he's settling in okay."

Isaac frowned, feeling as if he were being treated like a child. He didn't dare say anything, though, wishing to stay alive as long as possible so he could one day get back to Cole.

"Yes, Sir. Would you like me to wait in your study, or?" The brunet trailed off, biting her lip and giving Lucas a suggestive look.

Lucas sighed and turned on his heel, not giving the obviously desperate girl an answer.

Miranda huffed and grabbed Isaac by the crook of his elbow, pulling him to the staircase. He stumbled over his feet and the stairs, almost falling a few times but catching himself before he could.
