Chapter 1 It started out as a bright summer morning, the birds were singing, children at play, and I had to go to work. "What do you think Dinah?", I asked as I twirled around. I was wearing a long sleeved button up shirt, a navy blue skirt that hugs my hips, and black ballet flats. I was going for the preppy, hardworking, could you give me a raise please look. "Merowr", I'll take that as a yes. As I headed out the door I looked in the mirror, straightened out my long blonde hair, and put a thin black hairband in my hair. "Bye Dinah!", I said briskly. While hopping into my car I took a quick look in the mirror,"Today is going to be different." As I drove into my company's parking lot right outside the office building, I saw our company's big logo, WONDER. I hurriedly stepped outside and walked quickly to the front door. As the doors slid open about a thousand people said " Good Morning Alice,","How ya doing Alice, looking sharp!", or "Alice so and so wants you to do this," and so on and so on. When I finally reached my desk in the front of the building I finally sat down, put on my headpiece and started work for a couple hours. I was answering calls, typing a ton of papers, printing them out, y'know the usual secretary stuff. Until it was finally my coffee break! I had just started to put down my headset when suddenly a man with a bright purple suit and green tie came up to me wearing a fedora.
