"Fuck it!" I screamed at my locker. I violently jiggled the lock, trying to unhook it.
"It's not gonna work," I heard a voice say from behind me. I turned and saw Cecily standing there, two Starbucks cups in hand.
"School lockers are the death of me," I sighed as she came closer. Cecily rolled her eyes and handed me one of the cups, topped with a glop of whipped cream.
"You got the right thing, right?" I raised an eyebrow as I took the drink.
"Yup," she nodded confidently, "Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino, tall, extra thing of coffee, extra whipped cream."
I smiled and took a sip from the cup, turning back to my locker.
"I have science in three minutes, and my notebook and textbook are in my locker!" I pounded my free hand on the door, wincing as it made a loud crash when I hit it.
"Ughhhhhhhhhhh," I groaned, trying to take the lock off.
"This is why I keep all of my books in my bag," Cec said as she held up her light green backpack. I glared at her and continued to shake the door.
I heard steps approaching, but I paid them no mind. I was busy concerning myself with holding up my untarnished streak of attendance.
"Why are you murdering your locker?" A voice asked, dripping with sarcasm. I stiffened a gasp as Allie walked up to me.
"Oh, uh- I can't get my- uh, locker open," I stuttered, stepping aside to let Allie through.
"Lemme try." Allie made her way to my locker, and turned back to me. "Your combo?"
"Oh, it's 31-5-15." She took the lock in her hand and spun the dial. After a few seconds, I heard it click and she stepped aside, the lock now held in Allie's hand.
"How-" I gaped.
"It's a gift," Allie smirked as she strutted away. I stared at her.
"There's something about that girl that I don't like..." I heard Cecily say in a low whisper.
I straightened up. "Oh, come on. She's just a girl who happens to be able to undo locker locks," I rolled my eyes, finally opening my locker door and taking my many books out. "Totally some supernatural ability."
"You know what I mean," My best friend snapped. "You know my history with her."
"I thought you told me to never bring that up?" I asked sceptically, slamming my locker door shut. "We have Science. Let's bounce." I walked over to the stairway and began to push open the door. "You coming?"
"Yeah, yeah," Cecily said as she lugged her heavy bag over to the door. "But it's different when I do it. It's my life. Free country." I rolled my eyes as I pushed open the door.
"You know I'm right," she pushed.
"Sure."

We barely made it to Science in time. I was the first of the two of us to step into the room, and Cec followed behind me.
"Ah. There you two are," said Mr. Adams.
"Sorry! I couldn't get my locker open. Cecily was helping me," I said, finding my seat at the front of the class. Cecily followed and sat in the chair beside me, plopping her notebook on the table.
"Mhm ok," Mr. Adams grimaced. "I'll let this slide. But don't let it happen again. And throw away that coffee." He turned back to the whiteboard.
Oh shit. I had completely forgot about the Starbucks Cec had brought. I looked to Cecily, but she had already chucked her drink in the trash when we walked in. I quickly got up out of my chair and hastily walked to the trash can on the other side of the room, near the door.
