"Please, take a seat and make yourself at home." I said mentioning towards the living room. The girl, maybe 15 or 16, stood shaking infront of my opened door. "Come inside love, its awfully cold out don't you think?" The young girl didn't move. "Well I guess you best be off then, have a goodnight." I slowly started to shut the door.
"No wait." The girl managed out sounding rather surprised. I opened the door once more with a small smirk on my face, she hesitantly stepped inside and began to remove her coat. She seemed uneasy and very jumpy, not that I could blame her, she had just been picked up by some strange man and was inside his house, I would be flinchy too.
"Atta girl, the den is right over there if you would like to chat, or I can show you to the guest room if you perfer?" Again the girl was silent, she shook like a leaf and her face was tear stained. "If you have no opinion, lets have us a talk shall we?" I gentally took her coat and hung it up, shutting the door prodding her to the next room. I sat in a large armchair and she took seat across the room, on the couch. We sat in silence for a good hour, she cried silently for most of it but I wanted her to start the conversation. When I looked to the clock and saw it was near midnight I rose from my chair. The girl tensed right away. I walked over to her, she flinched with each step and it took everything I had not laugh. "I'll take you to your room now if you wish" I held out my hand to her. She gasped at the action and practicly melted into the couch.
"Please don't hurt me" She whimped quietly to herself, that was it, I couldn't hold it anymore. I let out a loud deep chuckle.
"Oh dear me" I said gently to the now mortified girl, "I'm not going to hurt you, I want to help you, but I could do that a lot better if you could tell me why you're wandering the streets alone in the darkest hours of the night that would help an awful lot. Or hell you could tell me your name?"
